That might have something to do with the fact that they got them from being an absolutely horrible team and not out of any shrewd management or deserved hard work.

I will give them credit for not deliberately tanking (they were bad because their management was even worse); not like one certain team that at least looked like (can't be proven) they threw in the towel on purpose to draft #66.

I bet if they had the chance to do it again they would, heck if we could go back in time I'd want Vancouver to tank for a chance at Mario!

My opinion still stands that I think Hall's career will be cut short. The style he plays, and the way he skates, I can easily see him getting a few concussions.

Then you have to say the same about Kesler.

I dont think Kesler skates with his head down too often, hes pretty aware when hes skating around. Kesler doesn't cut across the middle quite that often from what i remember

Hall just skates around as if there aren't any opposing players thinking nobody wants to hit him to injure him

Kesler knows hes not liked and people are out to get him

Though with all that said, i wouldn't be surprised to see Keslers career cut short also

Sure, but not in the same way as Hall.

Count me in on the 'Hall will have a short career' camp. He's been levelled a good ten times already (someone posted a bunch of links in the main boards) in just two seasons. The style he plays is just too much for his body.

I say he's done by 30.

I'm sure a lot of fans around HF would secretly be pretty pleased about that—hard not to hate a team that has received 3 first overalls in a row.

Hall is Booth with better IQ, pretty much. Well, smarter on the sense he can take and make passes. But given he's actually a pretty intelligent guy it impresses me whenever he starts skating at full speed with his head down or just crashes the crease like a diving bomber. Going to get hurt real bad sooner than later if he doesn't check himself.

Some of you might have seen this, but for those that haven't, interesting tidbit on Evander Kane.

If I were Stapleton, I'd stay over there even after the lockout is over. He's found a place where he belongs! He must be loving the KHL right now.

I don't know this for sure...but I believe the ice surface is European sized...yes?

Little guys that can skate do well in a league where the physical aspect of the game is not accenuated the way it is in NA.

So, yeah, agree with you 100%.

And the KHL pays some decent money...although the Russian quality of life is not what some of us would chose.

Hall may be a mile and a half better than Booth, but it won't prevent him from being squashed like a bug if he continues to play the same reckless style he does. Not all good players are smart players.

I say Hall is done before he hits 30, or his career at least takes a tail spin before 30 years old to the point where he isn't producing like Yakupov, RNH, Eberle.

TBH, Booth looks like a complete player on the outside - great speed, size, puck control, hands, etc. But his tunnel vision really holds him back. I find Hall a good comparable - he's just way smarter and therefore a much better talent.

Were you not watching the first few seasons of Kesler's career? He drove to the net nightly and would get crushed. We had a running joke about how long it would take Kesler to be cut. Remember when Peca just flattened him into the net? I was frustrated with his play last year because I thought he looked tentative which really hurts his success. It looks like it was because of his multiple injuries.

He was lucky he got up from Kronwall's hit last year.

The ridiculous hit where he turned his back, so all of a sudden its okay to leave your feet. Kronwall never gets nailed by the refs for leaving his feet. Guy gets away with far too much
