The Cubs are going to be filthy in three to four years.

So pumped. I can be patient.

Rizzo is not too much for Stanton. Thats silly. Rizzo and Baez probably isn't too much for him. He's one of the best young players in baseball.

Agreed. That's why I said "absurd amount". Maybe you don't get LoMo and get to hang onto the cash and a guy like McNutt.

If we can develop players, maybe we can splurge on a guy like Stanton.

BPA is a pitcher. The top three players RIGHT NOW, key words lol, are Appel, Stanek and Manaea.

I don't know why we want to hang onto McNutt... lol

Baez has incredible value right now, like Oscar Taveras value, so he could probably be a key point of a Stanton deal.

The Cubs need a dynamic pitching prospect. Vizcaino, in my opinion, looks like our closer of the future. Time for us to acquire an ace.

I'd do Castro and Baez in a heartbeat for Stanton. The Marlins aren't going to trade him though, its dumb to talk about.

I have another idea: Garza being shipped out may get us a haul. You could use players from the haul in a trade for Stanton and maybe hang onto a key prospect. Trade key prospects that were once in the organization acquiring Garza instead of your own talent.

I said that a while back. Package Garza's prospects with Baez and change.

If they trade Baez, I'm not sure they would require Castro. Baez obviously had the capabilities of playing third base, though.

All I am saying is that if our core is somehow Castro, Rizzo, Stanton and we have guys like Soler, Almora, the pitcher we draft, etc., this team will be dynamite.

We're definitely getting there. Stanton or not, this team is on the right track.

Trust me, I love me some Stanton. I was high on him when he was in the MiLB.

I think its too early to say we are on the right track yet. It seems like we have some decent prospects, but until they do anything at AA its hard to really get excited about them. Lots of guys tear up A and A+ ball and don't amount to much. I don't expect all of these guys to become stars just because they were acquired by Epstein/Hoyer/Mcleod

Well, I mean I like their approach...realizing that minor leagues matter. But it could be we have a bunch of busts on our hands and in that case, we aren't on the right track, its where we started.

Trip to Iowa City for New Year's became official last night! If IU wins tonight and beats Butler in Indy in a couple of weeks, they should be undefeated then for the Big Ten opener!!

Likewise with Duke and tomorrow. Non-conference teams don't win in Cameron
