Marlies have too many forwards so sending Leo to a decent league where he can make money and also relieve some roster pressure is a no-brainer. The more financially secure Leo is, the more likely he takes the NHL plunge.

I feel like he will be back. Shame the guy was doing so well on the Marlies. Hope he is back for the following season.

Sucks to hear but not surprised.

Look for Abbot and Ross to take charge of this opportunity. Especially Abbot who was showing some good game recently before he got injured.

Playing his first KHL game today. On the first line with Backstrom and Ovechkin, has 2 assist so far.

Very glad they were able to work out he getting "loaned" to Dynamo. He's an intriguing prospect and seems to want to be here (NHL/Leafs). Hopefully he can be effective in the NHL like he was in the AHL. I can't see why he wouldn't be able to as he has the tools and desire.

1g, 2a... nice game for Leo. Now all we need is to get those guys Ovechkan, and Buckstram for him to play with. They look like they are decent players. ;-)

But seriously, kind of funny listening to a British guy, obvious soccer background calling a hockey game.

It's pretty fun that Komarov plays with Ovechkin and Bäckström + that Janne Jalasvaara is defender in same line because Leo can speak fluently russian, swedish and finnish languages. Chemistry?!

Leo on that line is proof that the khl talent drops pretty dramatically.

It'll be a blow to the Marlies but it was nice seeing that he can play and I fully expect him to be on the Leafs fourth line should the NHL resume this year.
Look what I found today in our daily regional newspaper here in Finland. It covers Jakobstad, Kokkola, Kronoby, Nykarleby (the birth place for Komarov) and all the other surrounding small "cities"

and enlarged

Is that kind of like saying Bozak on the Leafs first line is proof ...

Perhaps Komarov brings some grunt work to the top line, it isn't always filled with finesse players.

"It has become a setback for the marlies. But it was fun to see that he (Leo komorov) can play and I expect to get to see him in the (maple) leafs fourth fifth NHL season only comes in once. signed Hockeygoon"

Google translate kind of lost it at the end. Maybe lack of umlauts

That is so funny. Hockeygoon, famous in Finland.

They were quoting you from post #4 in this very thread. Lol

Say something else and see if they print it.

I work with a lady who's son plays hockey in Finland.

I'll ask her to see if he has read it.

Anyone got a translation?
