Maybe we should take a look at Nash's brother. 15 points in 9 games...Maybe he just needs to be given a chance...

I'd be down, but only if he wears 61.

I don't think there is an "A" league in the chiller adult hockey league. No idea why. If I recall correctly, most other leagues also don't start absolute beginner's in an "E" league either.

Theres not enough teams for an A league. They already let B leaguers into the C leagues, Martin's in over his head with the amount of teams there are now to be managed by 1 person

Not sure if this is the place to put this, so MODs feel free to relocate:

I am looking to get rid of some of my miscellaneous CBJ memorabilia (not a commentary on the current lockout, I just have too much stuff):

Media Guides:
2001-02, 2002-03, 2005-06, 2006-07, 2007 Entry Draft, 2007-08 (2)

Yearbooks:
2005-06, 2006-07, 2007-08, 2008-09 (2), 2009-10, 2010-11, 2011-12

Autographed pucks:
Inaugural season logo, signed by Tyler Wright
Draft logo, signed by Jake Voracek
Stanley Cup Playoff logo, signed by Umberger
10th anniversary logo (5), signed by Vermette, Nash, Tyutin and Brassard (2)

Game programs:
Inaugural game (10/7/2000)

Make me an offer via PM for any or all

Watched "The Watch" the other night.

Too much screen time for Stiller, Vaughn, and Hill

Not enough screen time for Ayoade or the CBJ Jersey.

I forgot to comment on that, it was pretty slick. I've seen CBJ stuff in a few movies recently. Or maybe it was a couple, either way.

Darn hipster directors. All wanting to say, "I'd tell you what hockey team I'm a fan of, but you've probably never heard of it"

For the first time in the team's 4 year history, my Beer League team is at .500

I think this is the part where I get tickled pink.

very nice

We won our league 4 years ago in dramatic fashion. Double elimination playoff, and we were unbeaten, playing a team that should have won the whole thing. We beat them in the first game of the playoff by some form of osmosis (still under criminal investigation - I think our goalie may, in fact, be convicted of robbery) ... when we met in the finals, they beat us in the first game, 4-3. In the last game, our usual goalie couldn't play, so we had to find a sub ... our sub played well, but we still wound up going down 3-0 heading into the third. After storming back and tying the game with 3 minutes left, we got the game winner with something like 21 seconds left in regulation.

It was so exciting - one of the funnest moments I've ever had in hockey. We still have people tell us how fun the game was to watch, and that it was one of the best rec league games they have ever seen.

Best of luck - beer league hockey can be so much fun!

I play in Hockey North America league in Cleveland. They're pretty unique in that they have an adult learn to play class (mine was taught by Stanley Cup champion Jock Callander) and then everyone from that class becomes a part of the same team.

So almost all of us were newbies playing against teams formed 2-6 years prior. The first season we considered it a "Win" if we lost by less than 10 goals. The next season we actually won a game. The third season we actually made the playoffs (top 4 of 5 teams) and even managed to eliminate a team (double elimination)

It was a bit frustrating the first few years, but at the same time to have that progression, and for all of us to go from falling down to actually making plays together has been a pretty cool bonding experience.

I definitely think that playing hockey together is similar to guys who have been to war together - you learn a lot about each other very quickly, and would do anything to not let the guy next to you down. It's definitely a great bonding experience, and I have many lifelong friends because of it.

Glad to hear it's going well for you! It certainly isn't an easy game to learn.

So is this still happening or not?

Must be too busy exposing incompetence throughout Columbus to do their jobs competently.

The editor on Sunday announced that the debut was delayed until after the first of the year.

What's sad is that I didn't know this had been postponed. I kept thinking I ought to check one out...shows you how much I look at a Dispatch.
