Edit: 10 years down the line after he scores 100 goals for Liverpool and they name him captain.. you get.... Captain Morgan!! oh n/m.
Just had a chance to watch the U-21's in a full match for the first time this season. Morgan played well and won a penalty, but I was more impressed with Michael Ngoo. I'm surprised he hasn't yet gotten a chance with the first team, but I don't think it's long in coming. At 6'4 he has pretty good pace (especially for somebody that size), believes that he's a good dribbler, has excellent link up play and finishing, and prefers to play with his feet. It's also important to note that the U-21's don't cross the ball into the box often, yet Ngoo has been prolific both to finish last season and during this preseason. So at 6'4, he isn't doing this in the traditional way of being too big for U-21 and feasting with solely headed goals. I think he's progressing past U-21 level to be honest, so either he needs to start getting appearances for the senior side or he needs to be loaned out.

I think he could turn out as a very good striker at Premier League level, or turn out as a Championship/League One type gimmick forward. But he is definitely NOT just a target player.

I'd post a compilation but the best one has been removed from YouTube, so there isn't one.

Ryan McLaughlin is another good prospect at right back, some of our fans call him McAlves. Very good in the attack and already called up to the Northern Ireland squad at 17. Don't think he's too far off from first team appearances either, but there are three right backs ahead of him at the moment

So yesterday i was watching the Inter-Partizan Europa league game.. Partizan bringing a very young team.

There was this #50 guy named Lazar Markovic.

I've been following more hockey prospects than soccer prospects along the last couple of yrs, that's probably the reason i had never heard of him before.

In fact, given what i saw he has to be a well known name.

I was shocked when commentators said he is a '94 born.

The guy looked absolutely fantastic to me.

Was much less noticeable in the 2nd half, but who cares really.

Simply put, Markovic can fly with the ball in his feet.
The fact, to go with it, he showcased very good awarness as for distributing the ball and moving without it suggests he could become lethal in the future.

Liverpool did sniff around him a winter ago, but the asking price is immense.

Paul Pogba is establishing himself as a possible dominant player with Juve.
He created the first goal, scored the winner and had an all-around dominant performance tonight.

Love it.

Watched Milan-Juventus Sunday night and forgot i had something to report here.

I think I've seen him only in 3 full games, but Mattia De Sciglio is looking to me like the best prospect at the rightback position Italy has had in a very long time.

Just turned 20. Had one glaring mistake against Juve but aside from that was flawless. And by flawless i mean he can really play soccer, not only avoid/reduce mistakes.
Technically sound, reads the play well and is a very good crosser. The good brain for the game, timing and solid athletics suggests he should also become (even more) reliable defensively.
Maybe i'm jumping the gun a bit here, but actually i had to hold back months ago already, when i saw him for the first time. I really like him.

Btw, Pogba was a late sub in, and looked like a beast.

And to counter Evilo, i HATE it!

Oh, i also watched previously a good part of the return match Partizan-Inter and Lazar Markovic was much less exciting. Contrary to that previous game, he struggled to find an effective position and more importantly misjudged/overplayed several situations on offense. Very disappointing comparing to the week (or 2) before.
But I guess inconsistency has to be expected from a 18yrs old.

So, apparently AC Milan has sent a request to allow 15 year old Hachim Mastour to play in the Serie A.

Looked at some YouTube videos of this kid and I can see why they want him playing for their first team already.

I remember telling some ManU fans here that Pogba was going to be a superstar and they didn't seem convinced.
There's really no other way to me. I've followed him since he's a kid and that guy is something else.
Some people are talking about him for the senior NT already.

16 year old (yes 96 born) Neal Maupay came in late in a game last month for his first L1 minute. That's already quite impressive, but when he scored the winning goal 5 minutes later, then he really came on my radar. I had heard he was good (I had never seen him play), but right now I'm seeing him coming in against Lille, and just WOW. He's really good. He makes simple plays look easy and he feels the game so well. He's just scored his second L1 goal in less than 120 minutes of play. Could have had an assist too.

Maupay comes in late with Nice down 1-0 at home against Bordeaux.
He lobs the goalie but hits the bar.

Nice Interview with Liam Brady (Arsenal's Youth Acadamy director) who announced that he will step down after 17 years whenever Arsenal find a replacement (He isn't leaving though, will take another role) . Really interesting stuff about young aged prospects, competition in between clubs to sign 8-9 year olds, and also youth tournaments, where some teams like Barca, Bayern play 16-17 Y/os in U18s to give them experience.

Serge Gnabry is the real deal. You rarely see someone with a similar shot from outside the box. He always seems to curl it properly. Only 17 and dominating (+/-) the U21 level. Appeared as a sub once in the PL & 1 Champions League app (And a nice little scoop turn!)

Samed "Gerd" Yesil out with torn ligaments *ouch*

Max Meyer (aka the next Götze) with his first assist in Bundesliga action yesterday.

Winger Kingsley Coman has beaten PSG's record for precocity when he came in late in PSG's defeat.
He is 16 and 8 months.

I was surprised he was the player elected to play when there were younger with higher profile available.

Max Meyer is a lot more of a shooter/goalscorer than Gotze was coming out of the youth systems. If Mario's the german Iniesta, Meyer is the german Messi. Still exciting to see the kid make his debut and do well.

Jeremie Boga absolutely ripped it up away to Barcelona in the NextGen Series yesterday. He's no secret any more.

He was the only 97 on a pitch full of 94 and 95s (two 93s) and has been playing as an U16 in U21 football all season.

Yeah but we all remember how dominant Kakuta was.

I'm still very skeptical towards Chelsea developping young french players.
He should have signed with OM or Monaco.

A question for Evilo

Have you seen Frederic Gotte play? (Monaco u18 GK)

And has he indicated which NT he would like to play for Finland or France?

I think he's been called up to u18 Finland before but I don't know if he has actually played a game yet

Sorry no I haven't seen him.
I see a lot less of U18 action right now, especially from the southern teams.
If I hear something I'll let you know.
