I bought a wii in 2007, collecting dust upstairs. haven't touched it in a year.
Sales figures can be misleading.
He knows.. That's why he mentioned the part about replacements for 360s

I'm living in Japan, and the charm of being abroad is gone so I'm looking to buy a new console to pass the time.
I've got a question about playing online. If I get a Japanese Xbox 360 and Xbox Live account, will I still be able to play online with my friends back in America?
I wouldn't think it's a problem, but I've heard some conflicting reports from various sources.

Yes, you can.. But you may be really laggy and when you return to the states, you'd have to look out for region lock..
The PS3 slim is no longer region locked
This is I believe 360s region map

Yes you could look at it that way, you could also look at it as it's the newest console from Nintendo versus the newest console from Microsoft & Sony.

Lots of us have played it now. It came out a few days ago and Demo Units have been in stores for over a month.

I can't imagine it'd matter what you put Wii or Wii U considering you have to be 13 to sign up for HF.

Wii & Wii U users tend to be older than 360 & PS3 users.

Microsoft sold over 750K Xbox 360s last week, more than double Wii U sales

Microsoft's aging Xbox 360 console still has some pep in its proverbial step, moving more than 750K consoles last week in the US alone, rounded out by Black Friday.

I have no idea where you guys live, but you can find thousands of wii u's in New York.
It seems the deluxe ones sold out, but most parents would be looking for the regular ones for kids anyways.
They go into the store, and see they can get an Xbox/PS3/Original Wii for less money, and have lots of fun family games available already! I think this was a terrible time to release the wii u

Wasn't the reported failure rate anywhere from 23.5 percent on the low end and about 54 percent?

Got a PS3 but I'm not using it very much these days. I'll probably go PC only for the foreseeable future.

I don't think there's any official report on it. The last time I saw anything on the subject was last year something about the Slim-models and it's previous incarnations bringing it down to "industry norms".

What a wasted opportunity with that Wii Mini. No internet connectivity or bundled game, but it still costs 100 bucks?
