Ah right, that's pretty bad. I've blown 3 promille, not driving of course, a friend has one of them thingys where you check the BAC... I can say it's hard to stand up straight with 3 promille.
HAHAHAHA coming home from a halloween party no doubt. This has been talked about on the wings board but apparently the wings arent too upset with him about the whole thing. Thats what dealing with Probert will do for a front office I guess. Until Riley tries taking an ounce of coke across the border I think he'll be fine
If he trashes Chelli's house he's pretty screwed too. Just ask Avery.
I could do it routinely when I was younger, but it was light beer. Also, I was staggering about looking for a couch to sleep on, not operating a vehicle.
Alcohol affects different people differently ...
While you may consider your tolerance to have been high, different people handle their alcohol in varying degrees of tolerance.
At this level of intoxication it would be difficult to drive a vehicle however not implausible. Let's keep in mind he was driving the wrong way , and no one has stated he was driving it well.

Those breathalyzers sold to the public are unreliable at best ... They are often not accurate, yet I would suspect that there are many people posting here basing their "level" of intoxication off of using one in the past
15 drinks in an hour is basically a pint, so it's really not that much for a lot of people his age. Well it is, but I've done it before with tequilla no less.
Whaaaaat? Are these being drank out of a souffle cup?
A Pint is 16oz, a can of beer is 12oz. 15 "drinks" = 11.25 Pints
The proponents of lower legal drinking ages (I think it's 19 in Mr. Sheahan's province) argue that it teaches young people to drink more responsibly because it's out in the open and sanctioned by society. I guess Mr. Sheahan didn't get the memo.

Haha, my thoughts exactly. 15 drinks doesn't mean 15 sips of your beer, it means 15 full beers. I don't think I know anyone that drinks 15 in an hour and is fine, nevermind being fine for a large chunk of the early-mid 20's age group.

I doubt he did it in a hour. They used to have pictures of this up on a couple of the Griffins twitter accounts, they all started to go down before this broke the first time without more details. They had early in the day pictures with Parkes and Sheahan in teletubby costumes.
It is fairly easy to get to a big number while day drinking, especially if you do things like forget to eat dinner. Those measurements assume certain things, in fact depending on a bunch of stuff how alcohol impacts you on that scale can be off even for a seasoned drinker. It is why the same person can have 5 or 6 beers and have a big buzz but other times have more than 10 and not be nearly as messed up.
not gonna defend him, but they never said it was just beer.
he could have had a bunch of shooters or a mix (rum and coke, etc...)
gets you drunk in shorter time.... so how many drinks he got is irelevant. the only fact that matters is that he was ****ing way to drunk to drive.
I'd highly recommend getting Joose if nobody's had it.
24 oz of 12% alcohol mixed with about 3 cups of coffee worth of caffeine... One hell of a night.
Been there done that, but just with something called Blast. Same basic concept. Put two cans down in 40 minutes or so. By the hour mark the room was spinning. Never been more hungover than that.
No. I'm assuming Riley will go with the simple "I found it and was going to return it to Brendan next time I see him"
Both stories are simple and check out
That makes no sense, though. Why did he give it to the police officer if he found it and was going to return it to Brendan? How did he get alcohol if he found it and was going to return it?
Either a) Brendan had lost his license and Riley found it and decided to use it to buy alcohol and use it as a fake ID or b) Brendan gave it to Riley to use.
If a) then Riley is guilty of identity theft and fraud. If b) Brendan is in trouble for giving someone his ID and that's another whole host of issues.

That escalated fast. Maybe its different in the U.S of A, but in Canada plenty of my friends got caught with fake id's and none got threatened with that charge, most go a fine or nothing at all

Mixing two drinks that dehydrate you will have that affect!
Hilarious. As far as blowing a .030, those things are really impacted by when you had your last drink. If he did some shots of hard liqour and then got in the car, that could have done it.
Reading the article seems like he didn't blow until the station. Man can hold his liqour.
I am assuming those stills are after he was already in the process being pulled over otherwise this was a pretty easy arrest. It almost looks like he was just parked going the wrong way staring at the back of the lights wondering why they aren't green.
I am curious with the amount of stuff leaking on this if the Grand Rapids police are upset with something going on. Maybe they haven't been able to charge Smith and it has angered them or Sheahan's not guilty plea has infuriated them. I know some of this stuff is public record that has to be released in a certain time frame, but video stills before a court date usually suggest a leak. That isn't really on the level of how this is handled at least from what I know.
