I've posted in another thread with about a dozen AHL free agents. And, again, Whitmore looking for a contract.

I don't see JGL in warm ups, thankfully. Looks like Crawford is playing.

Yup, Kevin O says JGL is a healthy scratch.

(I'll agree with you here. Good to see Crawford get in another game. From what I read he had a good training camp)

San Antonio draws first blood - goal by Rallo - 4:32 into the first.

Kevin Oklobzija ‏@kevinoDandC - Frederick Roy can't get to, or tie up, Greg Rallo in the right circle and the shot beats David Leggio. #Rampage up 1-0.

Kevin Oklobzija ‏@kevinoDandC - Not-so-healthy #Amerk scratches: Girgensons (upper body), Adam (lower), Sundher (upper), Hodgson (broken hand), MacKenzie (upper), Healthy scratch for the #Amerks: D-man Jerome Gauthier-Leduc.

Like the Amerks with Hodgson - looks like Devils will be out one of their top guns for a while -

Tom Gulitti ‏@TGfireandice - Albany Devils C (and 2011-12 Calder finalist) Adam Henrique will have surgery on his left thumb and is expected to miss 4-6 weeks. (LS: Wonder if he hurt it last Friday vs Rochester?)

Update - ALBANY, NY –– Albany Devils General Manager Chris Lamoriello today issued the following statement in regard to center Adam Henrique:

“Tomorrow, Adam will undergo a procedure to repair the Ulnar Collateral Ligament (UCL) in his left thumb. As a result, he is expected to miss four to six weeks.”

Henrique suffered the injury in Sunday’s game vs. Wilkes-Barre/Scranton in Atlantic City, NJ.

I'm going to that game regardless of WHERE it's held. I would not have had a problem bringing along my brother and nephew for the roadie to Rochester.

That's a lot of information from the GM. How come the secrecy with Hodgson's injury?

Another open net missed by Foligno and another awful period by McNabb. Some things never change.

Thats the Buffalo Sabres for you - they are always secretive when it comes to injuries - how they were injuried and how long they will be out. Although didn't the Amerks/Sabres say orginially it was a hand injury and that he would be out at least two weeks?

TJ Brennan nailed a crossbar on a late first period powerplay.

End 1st - San Antonio leads 1-0 - Shots On Goal - 10-9 Rochester.

1st period notes:
  • FIGHT! Tarnasky and Selleck pair off seconds after the opening faceoff.
  • SA GOAL! 1-0 SA. Rallo; assists to Wright and Hazen. Hazen dumps it in, Wright passes from behind the net and Gallo's quick shot from bottom of right circle beats Leggio blocker-side.
  • SA PENALTY, Vaive gets two for hooking, Amerks to the PP; a couple perimeter shots saved by Markstrom; penalty expires.
  • Flynn finds Foligno in front, but the chance is squandered as his backhand is saved by Markstrom.
  • SA PENALTY, Hazen gets two for high-sticking, Amerks to the PP; Brennan with a close call, hits the crossbar with a laser from the right point; penalty expires.
  • SA PENALTY, Timmins get two for tripping, Amerks to the PP; nothing doing...
  • END OF 1ST PERIOD. 1-0 SA. SHOTS 10-9 RCH. RCH 5v4 0:19.

Kevin Oklobzija ‏@kevinoDandC - #Amerks RW van Rankin driven into the corner boards on a drive to the. He's in pain on the bench.

Kevin Oklobzija ‏@kevinoDandC - The #Amerks get caught, Joe Finley mostly, and off a 2-on-1 Quinton Howden of the #Rampage scores for a 2-0 San Antonio lead at 2:57.

Kevin Oklobzija ‏@kevinoDandC - Nick Tarnasky had an SA rebound on his stick but gave it right to Michael Caruso, who fires it into half-open net. #Rampage up 3-0 at 5:24.

Can I change my mind? Send more games to Buffalo. This is the worst they've played all year. Embarrassing effort.

RR had better lay waste to the locker room in between periods, as well as drive them hard at practice.

Kevin Oklobzija ‏@kevinoDandC - Evan Rankin redirects a Nick Crawford point shot at about waist level. #Amerks cut deficit to 3-1 at 10:09.

Kevin Oklobzija ‏@kevinoDandC - Great instant pass by Brian Flynn to Phil Varone in the slot but Jacob Markstrom kicks out the right leg for on-ice robbery at 11:25.

After making it 3-1, the Amerks appear to have woken up now and have forced Markstrom to make a couple saves as of late.

Bogus effort tonight. The 13 fans at the game deserve better for their money.

Brennan with the lampshade award for that awful defense. Get used to the AHL.

Kevin Oklobzija ‏@kevinoDandC - Jon Rheault, an #Amerk killer during the 2010 playoff series against Abbotsford, with some nifty moves to set up J.F. Jacques. #Rampage 4-1.

Kevin Oklobzija ‏@kevinoDandC - The goal by J.F. Jacques comes at 18:57. Jon Rheault used his speed and cleverness with the puck to burn #Amerks D-man T.J. Brennan.

Kevin Oklobzija ‏@kevinoDandC - Frederick Roy runs Tyson Strachan as the 2nd period ends. The fire and snarl might be far too late. #Amerks trail #Rampage 4-1.

Kevin Oklobzija ‏@kevinoDandC - #Amerks LW Frederick Roy gets the only penalties out of the end-of-period scrum he started. Elbow and unsportsmanlike (grabbing facemask).

Shots on Goal - 2nd - Rochester 9-8 - Game- Rochester 19-17.
