You Won’t See Me much around here for 6 days. Her Majesty and I are taking a road trip starting tonight to hear some Silly Love Songs, and coming back Monday. I’ll do my best to keep the thread updated but if you can all Listen To What the Man Says and stay on top of sending PMs to Help! whoever is up, that would be awesome. I’m going to Drive My Car 10 hours to Edmonton in the winter, when some say I should take a Jet, which would make me a Fool on the Hill except that I live in Regina. It’ll be A Hard Day’s Night but with some coffee and My Brave Face, I’m sure I won’t fall into Golden Slumbers while driving. Just A Day In the Life of seventies. And if none of this makes sense, ask your mother. Your Mother Should Know. Be nice while I’m gone. Live and Let Die. OK boys? See ya later. This Bird Has Flown.
Some of those references did Come Together well, but I Want You to know that you Imagined some of those connections.
Eisbaren selects RW Brian Mullen, who exemplified great consistency for this level, surpassing 50 points for 9 straight seasons, one of just four players in this draft to have 9 seasons of 50 or more points(the others being Olli Jokinen, Vinny Prospal, Eddie Olczyk, and Jozef Stumpel, who were all taken at the beginning of the draft).
Don't be silly, madarcand. Mullen was never the best player on line or even close. Stumpel led his line what, 6, 7 times? Stumpel was twice top-13 in points, how close did Mullen get?
Not to criticize Mullen, he is a good pick for now since he can play two wings, but a more accurate measure of his consistency would be to show many times he hit a certain adjusted points or percentage score benchmark, not raw points in the 80s.
Edit: I am leaving the top part in because it's funny. I replied too soon. Madarcand was not talking about Mullen, he was talking about our pick, Liba! LOL, sorry.
Actually a two-way forward, and about 10 times the player that say Stumpel is.
The Golden Stick Voting doesn't really disagree, but I'm probably higher on European players than most (I realize he had a short-lived NHL career).
I'll admit, if I could read Czech/Slovak I probably would have drafted Liba ages ago reading about his two-way abilities in broken English via google translate. I just couldn't make enough sense of it so he got shifted to the top of the AA list.
