There's little reason to play Elias at center with Zajac, Josefson, and Henrique available and Parise gone, at least once Henrique gets back.
But while Henrique is out, Elias is going to have to play centre. It could be worse.

I still can't figure out why they kept doing that. As an experiment early in the season I was on board with it. But once they found out he sucks at faceoffs, they should have stopped it.
Not the best of news but since there's no hockey ATM, it's a non issue for me.
Lou will have to do something about our forwards because as soon as someone in our top 6 goes down with a injury, our lineup up front looks like real weak.
Counting on Butler or Tedenby shouldn't even be a option at this point but unfortunatly for us, it is.
THIS, THIS. has nothing to do with AH, but im really hoping lou trades a few 'solid' d prospects for some help up front, at least by the trade deadline. if theres a season. and a league. and players.

Yeah regardless of Henrique I wanna get rid of somebody on D. Main factor is it causes us to be shorthanded forwards on our roster. I have a better chance of hitting the lottery than them utilizing Janssen's two way contract, and sending him down to the minors. the 23 man roster would leave us with 13 forwards, 8 D men, and 2 goalies. Unless there is a D man on LTIR at all times. Even when they asked Pete about it he acted dumbfounded, and didn't know what to say ''Yeah yeah we've never had this kind of depth before'' you could tell he didn't seem so excited about it either.
If there is no season though there might be no trades involving D men. Zidlicky likely won't be brought back. Still would love to dump Tallinder to give us some cap flexibility to re sign Clarkson, and Zajac.
Henrique said "it's actually the same injury" as Jacob Josefson had 2 years ago. Josefson ended up missing 2 1/2 months/30 games.
Tom Gulitti @TGfireandice
So, Devils' estimation that Henrique will miss 4-6 weeks is probably on low side. Henrique has to wear cast for four weeks.
Not good. We're gonna really need to make some kind of move if this ends, as if we didn't need to make one anyway. This is what I was afraid of most. We can't afford to an injury to any forward not named Barch, or Janssen right now. This isn't like Tallinder missing half the season last year.
Im sure Lou will make a Poni type move to help the team
That, sign Sykie, get rid of a D man too in the trade. Having all those D men is not helping us when we need scoring. Especially when it's many one way defensive defensemen, who have the scoring touch of Dano, and Colin White combined.
“At this point, it is what it is,” Henrique said. “I’m a young guy. We did the surgery and it went well. I just want to make sure it heals up properly and if it’s needed take more time to make sure it’s healed properly that’s something you have to do.”
....you know when you notice something. And then you can't stop noticing it. And then it drives you crazy?
Love the kid. I really do. But every interview: As a young guy. I'm a young guy. As a young guy. I'm a young guy. And repeat.

Never picked up on that, but do you know what I did? He clears his throat a lot in interviews. I've noticed that. He doesn't do it obnoxiously loud or anything, it's very quiet, but he does do it a lot.
