What a pleasant surprise. Good to see the '12 draft already working out, even without our 1st.

If Leipsic is the real deal then suddenly our prospect pool looks a lot better. All it's missing is that top end scoring forward

Leipsic can be a streaky point getter but struggles with consistency issues. He's young so has time to mature but should be a pretty useful player for the Predators' organization. Aberg could be a high end scorer, only time will tell if he can develop into an NHL player but excellent upside. Preds fans should see him at the 2013 WJC tournament in Ufa, Russia.

Yeah I'm cautiously optimistic with Aberg. Seems like a very boom or bust player, emphasis on the bust. Still too early for me to be throwing that word around though

Whoa, Portland Winterhawks GM/coach is suspended for the rest of the year and they lose a bunch of draft picks. Will be interesting to see how Leipsic and the rest of the team responds.

Found to have a history of improper benefits ($$$) given to players and parents in exchange for playing for the team.

Johnston suspended for remainder of season and playoffs, loss of a lot of draft picks next 5 years, 6-figure fine, etc. Should remain a strong program this season, but it'll be difficult for them to contend again after that for the better part of a decade.

Wasn't this guy compared to Tootoo coming into the draft? Looks like he's exceeding expectations.

With Aberg, Watson, Leipsic, Sissons, Salomaki, Latta, and Beck all coming through, I like the forwards corps we have. Emphasis on two way play (im shocked), but you'd think at least a few of those guys have a legit shot at the NHL.

I dont mean to sound repetitive or be a downer, but remember Tootoo was an offensive powerhouse in the WHL... he had 32G and 39A for Brandon in 01-02... so I wouldnt get too excited yet..
