Yeah let's all panic. The guy has 2 years left with Habs at 5 mill, but he'll play injured in Russia. Sure he will.

NHL players playing overseas are taking no chances whatever with injuries. Markov probably has a mild to medium abs stretch or something, and he'll take no chances until it's healed.

Markov played his 9th game on October 26th and he hasn't played since. So it's more than a month now.

Will we ever see again (a healthy) Markov in a Habs uniform ?

I'm starting to doubt strongly.

They kept him hidden so he could play this game and shut down Evgeni Malkin.

Classic example of how fickle habs fans are. They are always ready to put down and bash one of their own. Markov went from hero to a complete because of the fact that he's been injured. It's such an absurd hatred...in fact it's pretty ****ing pathetic. There is still no doubt in my mind that we have the worst and most ungrateful fan base.

I've been trying to ignore Markov for this reason - he plays not only in Russia, but for one of the least popular teams in the league. Few people are following Markov's every move, and even less who speak English or French.

But I'm glad it was brought up because it's the only reason I bothered to do some research to find out Markov is back. So it turns out no news is not always bad news - it's just no news.

24:38 in ice time after not playing for a month...I guess they do it a little different in Russia.

In 2010/2011 Markov played 23:03 his first game back on Oct. 30th after getting injured by Matt Cooke on April 30th.

Or the largest with a variety of opinions. Some rational and some not.

A few sour apples imo.

I notice that there is no way Markov doesn't have an assist on that winning goal.

Andrei Markov's brother, Danil, plays on the same team.

Really I don't care what stats Markov puts up in the KHL on a bad team, especially with such limited coverage but what I'd like to see is that he still has it.

Eh, makes me happy to see he can still QB like a boss.

When he'll be back, he won't be on any other team's radar because of lousy KHL stat

You know, got thinking about it. KHL leaders aren't above shafting their own players and fiddling with contact rules to throw players out of their teams to save money.

Maybe the Chekhov Manager wants to leverage the whole "you have been injured for too long and you didn't put up any assist, so you are fired and we won't be paying your contract".

Interesting that he's on the right side on the point of the PP as well... I remember people wondering would flank left if him and Subban were on PP together

Larger ice, may actually have an impact on Markov's tactical flexibility.

Andrei and Daniil have no family connections.

EDIT : Paul Maurice coaches Mettalurg? Really? And yeah, Markov should have had an assist on that one, classic Markov pass for the one timer.

If Subban and Markov play the PP together, odds are Markov will be on the right, so that Subban has an easier pass reception for the point shot, just like how when it was Markov-Souray, Souray played on the right so he could hammer his slap shot on net easier.
