She's more like "I'm gonna try to test the waters to see if she's desirable" lol. But I remember when I used to lived in NJ, one rink would let you get on the ice, and wouldnt HAVE to just do circles. That's the thing about it...I like going everywhere on the ice, so just circles sucks
I hear you. I'm sure there are other places that let you skate everywhere but it's uncommon. Skating without a stick and puck is painful for me. It's as boring as walking. The only time I go to free skates is if my girlfriend wants to skate in the winter or a friend wants to learn to skate better and give hockey a shot. I've taught a lot of people to skate. But for me to just skate around, circles or not, is boring. I skate better than I walk (more likely to trip over my own feet going down the stairs than to lose an edge at a free skate). On a date, however, especially one of the first ones, it can be a good move if you're a really good skater because you can show off without really trying, teach her and flirt/tease her. One of my first dates with my current girlfriend was when I was playing college hockey and she could only skate very casually; she later told me she got the hots for me watching me show off on the ice.
Thanks for your posts. It's been good reading them! I'd like to make something happen, but it's hard when not seeing this girl enough. Used to see her often, now she hardly seems to work anymore.
Keep it casual. The next time you see her just talk to her as you usually would and as you're leaving or wrapping up your business just go with "hey, would you like to grab a coffee sometime?" Keep it friendly. Tell her it's on you or something, but don't make it implicitly a "date". Make it sound like you're asking as an after thought, not like something you've been working up the nerve for.

Gonna end up doing this now I mainly play goalie, with left wing as a side/alternate thing. UB only has a club team and i refuse to pay an astronomical amount of money to play a few games per semester. So I play a lot of pick up games outside and in the local place. I like to do outdoor skating the most. With or without equipment. It's raw and great.

Whenever I visit another team's board I feel so weird. They have all these threads different from our that intrigue me

I actually feel weird posting on other teams boards too for the most part. My buddy TCRF, and some of the crossover posters on our board like Bob, and others actually make me feel right at home though! I like this board better than the main board. And with no hockey there's no reason not to get along right?

i'd say the saints playoffs hopes are pretty much shot now. the only possible way they could make it is by grabbing that second wild card cause whoever finishes second in the nfc north is most likely gonna take the first one. and right now seattle, minnesota, and tampa bay are in front of them.
