Knuble last year was a bit like Betts in his last season. Good and reliable if he was already where he needed to be, but not so much if any sort of acceleration or speed was needed.
With Betts it was his shoulder and the talented cheap kids that did him in, rather than his legs... as I see it. Knuble was still good for the PP at the very least... and skipping PKs... Just use him correctly and keep him in a good frame of mind... don't 'lose' him through insulting him.

Well, Betts did have some sort of knee issue after he blocked a shot; it killed his mobility. Knuble didn't have any injuries, but age has definitely caught up to him.
He doesn't have the speed to play in Lavi's system, unfortunately. In a perfect world I'd love to have him back though.

No doubt about it, Lavi's system is not the best one for him... I have to agree there. I suppose as the question was asked I'd have to stick with my answer of Knuble first... but he might not be the best fit for a Lavi run and gun team. That said; damn if he wouldn't fit in great on the PP.
The uproar had very little to do with Upshall the player. It had everything to do with inept cap management by Holmgren which required the trade, and the fact that he chose to throw in a 2nd round pick on a deal where the Flyers traded away a better player than they got in return.
Clear enough for you, or should I use crayons next time?
Unless you're one of the people who was convinced that Carcillo would score 25 goals a year... in which case,

Honestly, I think I'm doing the thread wrong by taking such things into consideration.
I know this wasn't the intent of the thread but I sure would have liked to see Tertyshny develop. He was so skinny - bet he would have been pretty good once he filled out a bit.
1. Mike Richards
2. Justin Williams
3. Simon Gagne
4. Dennis Seidenberg
5. Aaron Asham
6. Dainius Zubrus
7. Luca Sbisa
8. Patrick Sharp
9. RJ Umberger
10. Patrick Thoreson
1. Sbisa but he had to go in order to get Pronger. If Pronger was healthy it wouldn't hurt so bad to not have Sbisa around. But a young quality defenseman would look good on the roster right now.
2. Seidenburg. Swapped out for Nedved who turned into nothing while he was here.
3. Umberger. Basically an unfortunate loss due to the cap.
Probably Patrick Sharp or Mike Richards at this point. I would have liked to see Gagne retire a Flyer too but that wont happen now that he won a cup in LA.
Justin Williams and Patrick Sharp would be the two guys I'd want back at the forward spot. In terms of the defense, would love to have Sbisa back. The Flyers gave up way too early on him when they thought that Bourdon or Marshall were ready to make the jump.

I was going to go away from the obvious, but I was going to go with Seidenberg. Of those out there, considering our team needs, he would be the guy who would help this team the most.

The Flyers did not give up on Sbisa. They had to trade him in order to get Pronger. Yes, it sucks now that Pronger's career is over, but I still make that trade
