Chris Brown seems to be developing nicely and looks to be a pretty good return on a pretty valuable asset in the form of a 2nd round pick. If the Phoenix Coyotes organization gives even two ***** or a **** about protecting that asset they need to be on the phone him tonight demanding that he cease fighting immediately until they can find someone who can fly out there to teach him how. He's a big bad kid and should be a good fighter. He could be a good fighter, and I have no doubt he would be if someone took the time to explain to him that he should not lead with his head when in a fist fight. My god. He's going to get killed if he keeps closing his eyes, hunching over, and holding his breath. I swear, his career is in jeopardy every time he drops his gloves. Have none of his coaches been in hockey fights? Why the Hell is team captain Alexandre Bolduc not helping this kid figure this out?
Pirates TKO’d in Worcester By Chris Roy Published: 25th November 2012

If there was any doubt between the Portland Pirates and Worcester Sharks as to whether there is any animosity towards each other, it was dismissed Friday night.
Yanni Gourde scored twice for the Sharks as they defeated the Pirates, 5-1, in a fight-filled contest before 3,320 at the DCU Center.
It's getting to be that way.... The hit on Martinook into the turnbuckle with no penalty on the play and Matt Pelech were especially bad. Pelech is becoming a danger to other players in the league.

It's really not fair that a guy that big is as mean as he is. Not only that, but Worcestor has several other guys that play that style. They are definitely a team that tries to push other teams around as a stradegy to win and it worked tonight unfortunately.
It’s a “Swedish” time for the Pirates By Chris Roy Published: 25th November 2012

For the second time in three games, a Swedish defenseman came through for the Portland Pirates in overtime.
This time, it was David Rundblad, who tallied the game-winning goal in overtime, giving the Pirates a 3-2 win over the Manchester Monarchs before 3,814 at the Verizon Wireless on Sunday afternoon.
It's great Rundblad made a pretty play....but it was 4 on 4 hockey no? And a power play assist earlier in the game....I guess I still see a niche player who won't have enough all around game to be a NHL Dman.
Is it just me or has Gormley looked extremely shaky these last few games? I know it his first year and the transition from junior to senior hockey can take time. I really hope he turns it around soon though.
My god, the Pirates' new website is ****ing awful in both looks and functionality. It looks like a crappy local band's Geocities page from 10 years ago.

It's amazing how far in the wrong direction they went with that piece of garbage. An absolute joke. Very embarrassing as a Pirates fan.
Great game thus far in Portland. Pirates lead 4-2 in a game they have been dominating.
Stone can play at the pro level. I thought he was a bottom pairing guy but he's looking like Top 4 at this point. Bomb of a shot and great size.
Chris Brown is our Wayne Simmonds. He's developing faster than expected. Very impressive player. Again, I thought he was a third liner but it's looking like he may have 20 goal upside.
I'd like to gush about Rundblad a little. He had a highlight reel goal (was goal of the year until tonight as Conner now holds that honor) last game and he picked the corner again tonight. He's only a -2 this year; which is a huge improvement from last season. I like his upside. He's a top 10 D prospect in the league. Maybe top 5. Amazing how now that he's not a prospect with a Canadian team that he's now being talked about like he's a complete bust.
Gormely took a step forward tonight as well. Starting to get adjusted to the speed of the AHL game.
I like Martinook. His stats aren't there yet but this kid has something to his game that I'm drawn to.
Summers has had some nice plays as well. He's the forgotten man but I think he's capable of a bottom pairing role on the main squad. He would be higher on the depth chart if it weren't for our incredible depth. A guy with his skating as our 5th/6th guy is fairly impressive.
Bolduc obviously very impressive. He's better than I expected.
Shinnimin and Miele both creating time and space. Shinnimin has shown huge improvement from earlier this year.

Agree with everything u say. Rundblad even played on the PK tonight, improving his defense. Stone truly has a bomb from the blue line. I really like Miele and Conner, they both play big for being so small.

Pass along your thoughts to the Pirates office.... I'm sure they'd like to know.
4th game in a row that Rundblad's scored. He's figuring things out.
I don't know. Scoring has never been his problem... I haven't seen any games lately so I don't know how he's doing in more interesting aspects of his game. Good to see he's effective on PP now anyway, so he could be a PP specialist at the very least.

Chad Johnson and Mark Visentin combined to make 32 saves for the Portland Pirates en route to a 4-0 victory over the Manchester Monarchs in front of 3,547 in attendance at the Verizon Wireless Arena Sunday afternoon.
Looks like the Pirates played pretty well tonight, shutting out the Monarchs 4-0. Visentin took over in the 2nd and made 21 saves on 21 shots. Chad Johnson is hurt apparently? Maybe this will be a good time to get Mike Lee an AHL start? Gormley gets a point in 2 straight games, which is always encouraging.
