Just threw this design together taking into account the green / navy / silver thing. Turned out looking very Whaler-esque (obviously). Don't worry I left the shield off this time
2nd one for me is actually pretty cool, just having green and white. That and the 4th are my favorite from the ones i posted
I agree on the fourth. That's probably the only one I would be happy with there. The second one is nice but to me it's too much like the Wild. Slap a bit of gold in there and some stars down the pants and I dig em.
Someone's already mentioned that they thought Dallas wouldn't want to go too dark on green and risk looking like Minnesota.
Since there is a real possibility the two will be in a division together, do you think that is why they are looking for a totally new color scheme to not look too much like the North Stars or the Wild?
They obviously get that no one likes white and black, but with Minnesota in the division they don't want to go all green either. That's something to think about I guess.
Winnipeg and Columbus would likely be in the division so you've already got a red, white, and blue too though.
This Whaler combination though sort of makes the most sense. It's unique within the division ... probably only similar to Vancouver ... it ties in locally like they've mentioned to the Mavs ... and some variation of stars in the logo works locally across the board honestly.
That gray, blue, and green combination sounds like the best possible compromise to accommodate some of their stated goals while still making the fan base happy.
I really like this one.
Green is definitely the main theme in Minnesota, but the only "green" jersey they have is their alternate.
I also remember reading about how Gaglardi wanted something that looked classic and had been around for a while or something like that.
Definitely fits, IMO.
Minnesota is heavily trending toward using their green jersey more than their red one though. They're also playing up that wheat color as an accent and de-emphasizing the gold. The one above looks too similar and too plain IMO.

Except for the shoulders I love the striping. Use the original logo and shoulder logos and we're onto something. Maybe fit in some gold accent between the stripes

I don't understand the aversion to green... there is literally one other team with green as the primary colour... look how many blues and reds there are in the league
This seeming worry about looking like the wild is silly, does anyone actually think if Dallas brought back green and gold people would get it confused with the green and red of minnesota.
If 12ish teams can make their blue jerseys look different from each other why cant Dallas use green and avoid looking like the wild

Exactly. "We don't want to look like anyone else, so we won't go with OUR color that is currently a primary color of one other team. Instead let's go with a color that half the teams in the league use."
I've been emailing with Mr.Gaglardi a little bit over the past couple weeks. I sent him a piece I did on our unis and what I thought about any type of major change. He thanked me and said he sent it off to his team. Guess I'll just have to trust him on that, and I do. He also said it's pretty much the same as the feedback they've been getting - so that to me sounds like they actually are paying attention to the fans and what they want - which can only be good.
Wondering if I can post the piece I did up. I know I've gotten trouble for posting my articles before.

That's pretty sweet that you've been exchanging emails with Gaglardi and he's been listening to your take.

I can't even recall who it was, but I know I posted one of my blogs on here and it was taken down then I was given a warning. I've done some pieces that have been linked and shared by Heika, DBD, Razor, and even had the Modano to Detroit story out two days before anyone else. I always wanna share them here but I was told I had to ask permission and jump through a couple hoops to be able to do that. So I'm just hesitant. No biggie.

I think so too. Not sure just HOW much anything I've said will influence, if any at all, but I figured I may as well get my say in and I wanted to rep the feelings of most of us from this board.

How important is a team uniform? Some may argue not very, but I would argue against that. Of course winning is always number one – but a team’s uniform is as important as one’s family shield and becomes the color of the very blood that pumps through the veins of every die hard fan. My blood has been green; gold; and various degrees of black for darn near 30 years now and I’m not about to go for a transfusion.
You had the Modano story two days early? That's pretty kick ass dude. Go put Heika out of business... PLEASE!
Yeah ha ha. I had guys like EJ Hradek "refuting" my claims and Mike Heika saying "No no no he's away yes but he hasn't made a decision yet" . Within the next two days all of a sudden NHL Net and everyone else was all over it and sure enough Mike made the announcement.
I had an inside scoop and was given permission to put it out there. Too bad I wasn't on Twitter yet.

That's pretty tight man. I've only been in that situation once, and of course nobody believed me.
Hello Dallas fans, I've heard some rumors of a Stars rebrand coming in 2013-14, and myself being a graphic design major in college I jumped at the opportunity to ply my trade, so I felt I might as well share my results with the ones who actually follow the team and get some feedback.
As part of the rumor I heard, the Stars owner has mentioned specifically "red, white, and blue because it's very 'Texan.'" Therefore I have made my logo accordingly:
Tried to keep some of the traditional Stars crest, while also adding in some more flair, and I also threw in the year that the team was moved to Big D. I would just like to add that I would really rather see the Stars say in green and gold, but I decided to use the rumored colors.
