I should note, if its Blacker instead of Kadri I'd prefer a 2nd.

Id prefer Colborne over Kadri, seems like a safer bet to be a solid NHL'er. My opinion of course.

McNeill alone, take it or leave it, maybe add a 4th or 5th too. I still feel it is a little much but you have to give to get.

Then you're either underestimating Kiprusoff or overestimating McNeill.

I don't think the Flames should trade with the Leafs.

I'm not high on McNeill, but I'd rather have him.

Youd take McNeill > Colborne, Blacker, 2nd?

Surprising.

Was really high on Colborne a couple years ago, now not so much. Blacker seems a lot like Brodie, not a bad thing, but more of the same.

Colbornes stock in general has declined but I still like him more than McNeill.

I see Colborne becoming a 45-55 Point 2nd line C. Not sold on McNeill yet myself.

Brodie, Blacker, Seiloff would be a pretty decent starting point for a future blue line though. As to Blacker being like Brodie im not so sure. Blacker seems more physical.

Definitely. Quality > Quantity.

Colborne hasn't done anything for 2 seasons.

McNeill propably won't be more than a 3rd line centre, but he could be better, and maybe he turns out like Brandon Sutter or other effective bottom 6 players.

Defense sounds good but I Dont see Colborne having that potential anymore, maybe if he was more physical

It's not that, it's that we're giving up a good propsect and his whole career (which with his size, he should have long one, even if only as a 3rd liner) for 1 year of an aging Kipper. And I like Kipper and know he is still good, but I feel McNeill is a good return for him.

If the trade were this year you'd be getting more than one year out of him. Probably 3.

If TO were allowed to talk to Kipper regarding an extension, i'd up my offer.

Surprised some Flames would actually would trade Kiprusoff for leafs junk. You should've learned from the Phaneuf and Gilmour trade.

How are these trade offers in any way analogous to those?

Don't bother answering, they aren't. FoppaForsberg with no idea what he's talking about, per usual.

I was thinking the same thing. Move out a backloaded guy like Grabner (cap hit of 3 mil but will be paid 3, 4 and 5 mil starting next season). Grabner + pick/prospect? Flames could use some speed and skill up front, Grabner provides both.

Maybe because Kiprusoff is still a #1 elite goaltender and you're trading him for scraps? They might turn out to be decent players but rather then getting 2,3 meh guys I'd think you'd want 1 real good piece.
Also, really it's enough with you throwing my name under the bus, you've done it twice already, knock it off.

I think everyone undersells Kipper because of his age, it's quite rattling.

Sure he's older, but he's been so consistent year in and year out, and if a team was going to make a huge push for the playoffs/cup they'd sell their cupboard.

I wouldn't be surprised to get a great return. If it was a deadline deal (where every team overpays anyways) we could score huge. Not some scraps from Torontoland.

Oh he will be great until the day he retires, he still is gonna retire at 39-40 most likely. Which is part of the age thing, not to do with him actually declining. More to do with him just only having a couple seasons left.

Also yes if this was a deadline deal I'd be looking for a lot more back than the proposals I already stated.

Thank you, at least some people understand that you don't trade your #1 elite goalie for scraps.

He's essentially a rental though...

I mean we've seen rentals can get great returns and Kipper would surely bring a big one but at the same time you don't sell the farm for a year or 2.
