Babin claimed by Jacksonville. That franchise might be #1 on my list of teams I wouldn't want to play for.

Also, Reynolds missed practice today with an ankle injury. With that, Mathis slides over to center and we say hello again to Watkins.

Is Watkins really that much of a bust that Scott starts and he doesnt?

He was a little banged up, inexperienced, and rumors were swirling that he made comments akin to, I'll paraphrase: "I don't like playing football."

Watkins was one of the biggest brain farts Andy made in the last few years. ( reaching on Jarret is close though. I won't comment on JPP because with Grahams injury there was quite a bid of bad luck involved)

Drafting a 27 yr old canadian guard who only turned pro because his friends from the fire department needed funds for a new fire truck....
Yeah great move

There is no QB I want in the 1st round this year. Geno is too small and does not convince me. Stay as far away as you can from Barkley.
Wilson.. meh

This is a bad year and draft to tank. Should have imploded last year. Stupid win streak at the end. Only guy in the Top 10 I would be happy getting is Joeckel so far.

Jones has spinal stenosis. Star is great but we have Cox already and I am not sure that he is worth a TOP 3 pick ( where he will go unless some teams go QB-reach-crazy)
Teo , Hankins and so on. Meh. Just ugly. I hope some guys step it up from now on until the draft.

Right now, it seems like one of the worst years to totally implode.

And I don't want Gruden. Rather have Chip Kelly ( even though Matthews recommending him is a little bit of a Red Flag)

I hear this is a common problem among right guards drafted by the Eagles.

Sounds familiar...

....I still think he'll be a good player, but not the stud you'd hope to get the one random year that you completely suck.

Yea, I'm not a huge fan of Gruden either. I'd like to see a defensive minded coach brought in, but that might just be me wanting something different after the past 13 years.

i'd love to see them try and get Cowher to come back. Someone dedicated to running the football and playing hard defense. I think we have real potential with Brown/McCoy tandem and we need a coach that can utilize them and Foles with some seasoning seems capable of being a game managing qb. Yeah he should of had 3 picks on monday, but he'll adjust, he seems pretty accurate but definitely needs some time to adjust to the secondaries of the NFL.

He should stop staring lovingly at his receivers then.

I'd just shut McCoy down for the year. There is nothing to gain playing McCoy another down for the rest of the year, we don't need our underused/underutilized/under-appreciated stud 24 year old running back facing concussion problems for the rest of his playing career in Philly, for what? So Reid can keep his job, screw that, because we're sure as heck not making the playoffs. Rest up Shady, see ya next year.

Completely agree. Gives Brown a chance to get some work in.

No reason for him to play.

Word out of Kansas City is that linebacker Javon Belcher, killed his girlfriend then committed suicide in front of head coach and GM.

Girlfriend is in critical condition

Horrible. Confirmed by a ton of sources now.

Edit: Word is he went to see his coaches to thank them for all they had done for him. Then shot himself in front of them. They're claiming they had no fear of danger (he was thanking them) -- they were talking to him, but he went and did this.

I dont understand the logic of shooting someone else, then killing yourself. That is so effin despicable and cowardly. Not to mention shooting himself IN FRONT of his coaches? did he want them to have the trauma of witnessing a violent death to relive day in and day out? Some thank you.

I have no sympathy for him.

He may have been mentally ill. Waiting to hear more as it comes out.

The second part was an update that I edited in after the original post.

She was reported to be in critical condition and she later died at the hospital

He obviously wasn't in a stable state of mind. When that's the case, logic's usually out the window. Crazy sequence of events. Heart goes out to everyone involved.

According to an extremely reliable source, who is close to Reid, the long-time Eagles head coach could be the head coach of the archrival Cowboys next year.
Of course, that is all based on Reid being fired by the Eagles, which is expected, and Jason Garrett being let go by the Cowboys, which isn’t quite as sure, but certainly could happen if Dallas does not make the playoffs.

Reid going to Dallas would make me really happy. Between him and Jones' senile GMing, they ought to do an admirable job of flying that franchise deeper into the dirt.
