Best goalie while a Pen (Poll still closed mod, plz help again)

Please vote not sure if you're feeling that your grasp of Tom Barrasso are too limited.

Marc-Andre Fleury now has eight seasons for the club:
  • 435 GP, 226 wins. Playoffs: 75 GP, 43 wins.
  • One Cup
  • One Cup final
  • One All-Star Game appearance
  • One time in top-10 save percentage
  • Third stringer on Canadas olympic team in 2010

Tom Barrasso had part of 12 seasons playing for the club:
  • 460 GP, 226 wins. Playoffs: 101 GP, 56 wins.
  • Two Cups
  • One 2nd All-Star Team selection
  • Three times in top-10 save percentage

About even right now.
Fleury has battled with his consistency.
Barrasso was always a good and very good goalie but he was never really among the best.

Personality-wise it's no contest. Fleury every day of the week and twice on Sunday.
Barrasso was a notorious jackass.

The poll is closed? With no votes?

Anyway, since you asked, when you say Penguins goalie, my mind drifts to...

and...

and of course...

(Les Binkley, Andy Brown and Jim Rutherford for those not in the know)

I must have missed something. Can a mod fix this please? Maybe add an "Even" option?

Barrasso for me...Very good/great in the 2 Cup runs and a better Vezina/AS record

I'd think this has to be Barrasso. The only thing I can see giving Fleury over him, not counting personality, would be those neon yellow pads, although Barrasso's solid white and then solid black gear were pretty cool too.

Fleury has been more durable, but that's about it as far as I'm concerned. His average level of play has definitely been lower.

Barrasso was very, very up and down in his career. Mostly down, after the 1993 debacle. The only uptick in his stats again, as I recall, was when we bought in drill instructor Kevin Constantine to make the team play some kind of defense...

The Pens probably make it to the Finals in 1996 with Wregget instead of Barrasso...and who knows what happens in '93 if there's a goalie change. But tough to yank him after being a big part of back-to-back Cups...who would have guessed that surrendering 20 goals in the last four games of a series would prove to be fatal anyway...it wasn't a matter of goal-support...the Pens scored 19 over that same stretch...

As of now, it's very close. Fleury will comfortably pull ahead soon enough though...it's not like Barrasso set the bar that high...
