At the 49 second mark. Start at like 45 seconds and roll from there.

Flyers owner Ed Snider engaged to girlfriend of eight months

He's the Flyers daddy and now hers I guess....

But seriously the comments section was pretty raw....brought a few chuckles though

A few notable quotables

"At this point Mr. Snider one more marriage away from having a wife who was not born last time his team won the Cup."

"Looks like Ed plans to die in bed."

"Good thing his wife is a trophy. He won't be winning a Stanley Cup anytime soon."

Quote:
Congratulations to Flyers owner Ed Snider and Lin Spivak, whom he began dating around March, who were recently engaged, Snider confirmed Thursday morning.

"We are very happy together," Snider said through Comcast-Spectacor spokesman Ike Richman. They declined to provide specifics but Sports Input reported recently that Snider proposed to Spivak at a "s****y restarant in Santa Barbara, CA,"

I didnt know the commish of a sports league can dictate who can and who cant play for a team. Appearantly David Stern does.

I also found this ridiculous. He has an old team, they need rest. He doesn't care about what the NBA wants, he is concerned about his team. Stern is a moron.

Can you imagine if the Flyers were playing and wanted to rest Timonen,Briere and a couple other guys and Bettman said no you cant do that. ridiculous.
of course I would be willing to bet some around here wouldnt have a problem with Bettman having issue with it.

The last part would make more sense if hockey was basically a 1 line sport.

I don't understand what stern could even do in this case. Nothing the spurs wanted to do was against the rules. Good thing he's retiring soon

I realize this and maybe I was using the wrong example. I was trying to make a point of a commish of a sports league overstepping his authoirity.
Stern is on a power trip on his way out. Hes talking about Sanctions against the Spurs? I am not the biggest basketball fan by any means but its just stupid and ridiculous that he can tell the Spurs who can and cant play and when they can take games off.

Hasn't Bettman been doing that with every player in the NHL for the past two months?

Sorry to hear that man. Best wishes to your family. It's been a very difficult year for mine as well. Family comes first.

Is anyone here a fan of lacrosse? It's a sport I literally wasn't aware of before seeing American Pie, and here I'm probably in the same boat as most people growing up outside the US/Canada. Anyway, just found out Edmonton has a team in the NLL and it seems the sport also has some similarities to hockey, so I figured I might give it a shot someday.

I haven't really played it competitively, but it's a fun sport to play. It's also a good sport to watch

Sucks that the game was so expensive this year. Usually we go to the game every year that it's in philly
