Channel One Cup

12 days left. Mårts will take out the squad on monday. Tre Kronor needs to get some wins. Last 12 games in EHT have Sweden lost i think.

Would like to see...

Alexander Steen - Patrik Berglund - Henrik Zetterberg
Marcus Johansson - Nicklas Bäckström - Viktor Stålberg
Joakim Lindström - Oscar Lindberg - Jimmie Ericsson
Fredrik Pettersson - Joel Lundqvist - Marcus Paulsson

Erik Karlsson - Victor Hedman
Staffan Kronwall - Daniel Fernholm
Simon Bertilsson - Mattias Bäckman

Goalies - no idea.

Ulf Dahlen wants to see Marcus Nilson in Tre Kronor. http://www.aftonbladet.se/sportblade...cle15857967.ab

Sooo... What's wrong with Söderberg? I mean, he was only Sweden's best player last time, and the top scorer in the entire tournament...

No sense in bringing all the best players avaliable. It's the tournament to watch some of the young guns aswell. So, no place for Tony if Bergy, Backes, Joel and Lindberg are there.

Thornberg, why not.

However, I predict we will see a much different team than waht OP proposed.

I think that's a far too idealistic line-up. I don't think it's likely to see Marcus Johansson there, not sure about Steen either, although he might go if Berglund goes. Landeskog is probably a likely show-up. Zetterberg and Bäckström are doubtful, but not impossible.

Lindberg's been in a slump lately. Don't expect to see him in the roster if Mårts has seen recent games. Lindström should make it. That's if he hasn't burned his bridges with his last efforts in NT.

Mattias Bäckman should be in before some of those other d-men IMO. He has been LHC:s best d-man all season.

Agreed. I like how Carl Söderberg called him "the best D-man in the league" today, it's great that at least his teammates appreciate how awesome he is

Mårts has started to build his own little country club on defense. Ahnelöv, for example, can seemingly get away with anything.
