Doc Emrick for sure, but I gotta be honest. It doesn't feel the same listening to him on NBC after not being our play by play guy anymore. I'm not too psyched when he calls games cause 99 percent of the time it's with Edzo. I loathe Eddie Olczyk.
I can't stand Jeanneret's voice. It just annoys me, and he always sounds like he's slobbering.
I do like Joe Beninati though, and Craig Laughlin as well. I can impersonate both pretty well, and can do a conversation between the two.
Rangers announcer, Ray Ferraro, Pens announcer, and I like the duo of both Red Wings guys... they just love the red wings so much, nice to hear passionate announcers
Sam Rosen needs to be in the top 5. Nobody calls it more down the middle.
Yeah a guy like Joe Benanati is exciting when the Caps score. Listen to him on a Caps telecast when the other team scores. Sounds like somebody died.
Doc is #1 AINEC. I agree with that pick.
I like Sam when he does NFL games, or when he did non Ranger playoff games a few years ago on VS. I hate him when he does the Rangers, no reason, just the way it is.
I personally like the Lightning and Sharks pbp guys, and the old Thrasher pbp guy JP Dellacamera who does soccer now. But Doc is the man.
Beninati goal calls for the Caps are indeed badass.

Yeah it's the nature of the beast. Even if he's not waving his pom poms he does still work for the Rangers
How I came to like Doc after all those years with the Devils is puzzling, but he's great.
Gary Thorne would be up there too, if he still did PBP for the NHL
Gary Thorne's voice sounds like playoff hockey to me. It's the voice I remember most (other than Doc's) from my young days when I was becoming a fan.
If only there was a way for NBCSN to poach him
If we're talking about pure play by play, telling you exactly what's happening on the ice, where the action is, and drawing a picture in the viewer's mind, then it's absolutely Rick Jeanneret, no questions asked. No one else is even in the conversation.
If we're looking at total package, there are a couple of guys that are in the conversation. Doc Emerick, Sam Rosen, Jim Hughson, Chris Cuthbert, Mike Lange, Randy Hahn, Jeanneret, and Howie Rose all deserve mentions.
