Been an NHL fan since I was young, started with the Minnesota North Stars and the Hartford Whalers while collecting hockey cards in Sweden (Yeah, I know how to pick 'em huh...)
Adopted the Rangers because of Lundqvist and a friend of mine who turned me back on to the NHL a few years back. Also root for the Wild and Panthers.
Funny story how I became a hockey fan and a Devils fan.
I was 8-9 years old in 1998-99 and I was bored at my grandmothers house and I decided to turn on the tv. Just by chance a Devils game was the first thing that popped on and they put up like 8-9 goals against the Lightning. Addicted ever since and played hockey since then.
Thank god it was the Devils because it could have easily been a Rangers broadcast
EDIT: Ha..here is the game, it was actually a 7-1 win. Goals by Sykora Arnott Neidermayer Pederson Pandolfo Brylin and Morrison, good times good times. http://www.hockeyfights.com/games/738
I don't know I would call the Rangers a "favorite" team. A favorite is something you pick because you like it the best. I didn't choose the Rangers it's just part of me.
