It seems to be a problem for all of our teams to dig themselves into holes in the first half of the year and then try to remedy their place in the standings from January onwards. Syracuse did it the past two seasons, the Ducks have done it since the 2007-08 season and it looks like Norfolk is trying their best to do the same again this year.
Would Bruce be allowed to coach them during the lockout?
Well, he was at the game, at least. . . .
"The Ex-Files – Ex-Caps coach Bruce Boudreau was in attendance at Wednesday’s game, watching the game from the press box. Boudreau is now the coach of the Anaheim Ducks, who are the parent NHL club to the Norfolk Admirals. Ironically, it was one year ago today that Dale Hunter replaced Boudreau behind the Washington bench."
Sorry, this should have been posted in this thread.
I have to reiterate what I've said already. THE TRAP SUCKS!
Get rid of the system where all 5 guys are standing with their feet in cement at center ice and lets ATTACK. This team is playing so tight right now because of the system and they're all afraid any shot against them is going to go in.
That being said we can not allow Bobkov to rediscover his game with this team. He has given up 2 soft goals every start and that is deflating beyond belief, especially when you know everyone on the team is just waiting for the soft goals to happen. Last night a goal from the boards on the goal line goes in. Come on! Bruce talks about building a culture of winning, with the current system and goal tending that culture isn't coming soon.
That passive forecheck could be a component Boudreau's system though. IIRC, the Ducks forecheck wasn't as aggressive once Boudreau came in as it was when Carlyle was there. Things like aggressive pinching from the dmen and longer passes were implemented.

He needs to go to Fort Wayne ASAP to get some confidence. Andersen has been bad too but I'd be fine with him backing up someone like JDD if we can sign him to an AHL only deal. JDD has to be better than what we have, right?
They had a dominant period against Adirondack. They just got shutout by great goaltending.
They had some strong moments against The Whale, too.
That's the problem, team will have moments or a period of good play but it is not enough to offset the weak moments and periods. Other than the start of the season the team has not played for the whole 60 minutes.
I want to clarify that the "team" is taking shifts/period off, but there are a few individual players that are working hard every shift they take.
