Maybe, maybe not. His numbers have been impressive--but as with other small, skilled players, there's no guarantee he can hack it in the NHL. The odds are still stacked against him. Time will tell, I guess.
He may not stick, but he is earning his shot for a long look.
Some offensive output from the bottom 6 would look real good on the Rangers.
Wether he sticks at the NHL level is yet TBD, but ha's making a case for a loong look.
Also I've been asked on some other sites I have no idea the extent of Stajcer's injury. I do know he dressed last night as the backup so I'm assuming that's a positive sign.
Did you ever find out what the injury was? Stajcer was placed on the 21-day IR. Former SUNY-Plattsburgh goalie Bryan Hince had a shutout for Greenville Saturday night against Trenton.

I like Wilson as a grinder type in future if he pans out and Yogan needs this IMHO. He's been sitting for a while. In Greenville, he'll gain some more play and will do well. I'm sure he'll be back in CT soon enough.
Bob Crawford said Yogan is coming off an injury. Not sure how much that plays into demotion.
bummer, hopefully he plays alot then gets back to the AHL. Prospects usually take time to "get it" so not too down on this.
So if the season started today are any Whale players looking good to go? Reading stuff on Miller not sure if he's ready for the NHL but he is getting better.
Kreider whether he is scoring alot or not will be a Ranger

Kreider obviously. Other than him, Newbury as 13th or 14th forward at most, Kolarik isn't there yet/again (after his long injury)... Talbot as a backup is a long shot. Thats it.
Don't look now, but Cam Talbot is quietly having a very good start to the season on a not-very-good team with a bad defensive blueliner group. He's older, but a lot of goalies develop later, and that's been his career trajectory from the start. At every level from the time he was a kid to juniors to college, he has been a late bloomer.
Considering that the AHL this year, due to the lockout, has an extraordinary number of NHLers and middling players (who in a normal year would be going back and forth, but this year are sitting in the AHL full time), his performance has been encouraging.
This kid might pluck his way into an NHL backup role.

Seems unlikely. Biron is one of the top backups around, and Talbot needs playing time, not a spot on the pine. And if you carry Talbot in the NHL, you have nothing in Hartford and nowhere to put Biron.

Cam Talbot has no future here. Neither will any goalie coming up the pipelines in the next 3 years.
Biron will retire in less than 3 years. There's no reason why a young backup can't take over his job in the next couple of years, though almost certainly not this year.
Barring injury or his losing interest in hockey, Lundqvist will play another 10 years, give or take a couple years, so obviously nobody will beat him out for the starting role, but Biron will need to be replaced much sooner than that.
And as far as Lundqvist goes, since goalies take 6-10 years post-draft to develop into being a starter, we should start taking stabs at goalies in later rounds. Maybe one of the goalies we draft in the next 3-5 years will pan out.

Was curious if they were going to or not this season. Good decision by the NYR brass, and another reason to cheer for the US squad
