BREAKING: Jim Harbaugh has informed Alex Smith that Colin Kaepernick will start Sunday, per source. Said decision not based on health.
Thoughts?

I would of started him for health reasons, brain damage isn't a joke. I'm just glad this isn't happening with one game left.

Harbaugh was the only coach that treated Smith like a #1. With their relationship, one has to think it's for health precautions despite what he said to the media .

Hiding this could help give Kaep a bit more confidence.

Bah. If Kap struggles early in NO and Smith is good to go, I wouldn't be in the least surprised if Smith gets put right back out there.

I can't help but think that since Smith was limited in practice today and not yet cleared for play, that this is more to do with his recovery. Kaep's providing them time to get Alex %100.

Off topic, but man I dislike Ratto's writing style. It's obvious he's trying to sound smart and fancy using analogies after analogies, but there's just no flow or substance.

Donte Whitner states what we already knew on the Dan Patrick show, that is that Kaepernick is starting the game at NO.

But speaking of the Saints and Whitner......:

If I were Kyle Williams, I'd look for some side blocks and other ways to get hits on Saints defenders.

By the way... if you're worried about the Seahawks for whatever reason...

If they appeal them the way Vilma has, they may never be suspended...

Earthquakes win all the awards that would be great if they would have beaten LA and won the MLS cup, instead, it's just a disappointment.

Eh, not really. This was a once in a lifetime year for the Quakes: Best record, best player, best coach, goal scoring record tied, "groundbreaking" on a new stadium (Lew needs to get off his ass and get construction started on that), and multiple wins over the best teams in the league.

Did the season end in disappointing fashion? Sure. Was the whole season a disappointment? **** no.

Yeah, I agree. That 3-1 loss after winning game 1 will sting for a long time for me.

Poor Cal

Three BCS bowls in three years for Stanford. But hey, you can probably find highlights of the 1959 Rose Bowl to watch!
