I had already won, and having Cam playing for me on Monday Night was just gravy, but I can DEFINITELY benefit from a hot Cam Newton coming into the fantasy playoffs...
I needed just over 36 points to win, having only Cam left to do so. Some bad decisions on my part led to me being in the hole early, so it was looking pretty bleak.
Then Cam goes nuts and gets me 38.32 points, and I'm ecstatic that he played so well both for him and for my team, but also upset that I declined watching the game. Instead, I was playing some PS2 with my roommate, embracing the memories. (Played Star Wars Battlefront 2 for about 2.5 hours with him, after having played Dark Cloud for two hours and Gauntlet: Dark Legacy for an hour or so with him).
Welcome to the ACC, Louisville. I, for one, welcome our new pizza chomping overlords. I'm a little surprised it's Louisville over UConn, though.
They're having to do whatever they can to keep this thing together (if that's even possible anymore). Though adding Louisville after spurning WVU over academics last year is a serious laugher. But it all comes down to what's most likely to be the better program long term. Louisville has had a history of strong basketball with a few good football teams here and there over the years. UConn on the other hand is new to this whole D1 football thing, and even though they've had some success, they've been mostly irrelevant even when they have been successful.
This is also a move to cut off the Big 12. They were possibly looking at Louisville as a "bridge" program to close the gap between Iowa State and WVU (and any other east coast schools they might add). Cincy was only marginally in the discussion there, and UConn flat out never was.
NC State hires Dave Doeren from Northern Illinois.
Dave Doeren (born December 3, 1971) is an American football coach and former player. He is currently the head football coach at North Carolina State University where he will be fired after losing the interest of his athletic director and fanbase within the first four years of his stint in Raleigh.
Not talking about Saban specifically (and no, not a fan of the guy)
1 - a general rule that I've always had: **** Notre Dame.
2 - I've had my share of interactions with Bama fans and with UGa fans. Between the two, I've had FAAAAAAAAR fewer problems with Bama fans. The UGa fans I've met have basically been of the "if you're not us then **** you" variety. While I do have a certain respect for that kind of bluntness, it's not too welcome when you're at the Sugar Bowl with an elderly relative. Bama fans that I have been around, for what faults of their own that they have, are typically respectful of other programs as long as they're not rivals with you. Of course, if they are rivals then all bets are off.
And as always, should Georgia pull this out which it looks like they're going to, always refer back to Rule #1.
