Are you so sure? Them getting better is probable, but they seem to be getting worse.

that is unfortunate, I always liked that rivalry game even though I dislike both teams.

Heck if we could duck out of playing IU twice this year I'd be fine with that.

They've got a ton of NBA bodies and Noel, who came into the season out of shape because his reclassification kept him from pre-season workouts, will get A LOT better.

Not even necessarily that, but the fact that the SEC is a notoriously weak conference in hoops. If they get more then 5 in I'll be very surprised. Basically even a lower-middle tier Big East team would be top 3rd of the SEC in hoops. Now Kentucky having to sweat it out on the bubble a bit this year? THAT would not surprise me the way they've been playing.

I'm just amazed that's even possible these days.

They combined to shoot 31/100

In the late 90's I remember NC St was involved in a game in which the final score was something like 39-38. The worst part? It actually went into 2 OT's.

There goes Cal's home winning streak.

Meanwhile just west, Louisville barely sneaks by Illinois St. Should have been a foul called on a 3 attempt at the buzzer to tie it.

Louisville needed a ref-aided win at home against Illinois st. Illinois st player was obviously fouled on a 3 point attempt as time ran out, no call.

Wyoming up by 9 on #17 Colorado with 1:17 left to play.

Looks like they'll improve to 8-0.

Being from St. Louis it was really tough hearing about Rick Majerus' death tonight.
This was posted back at the end of August but it's a great read for anyone who is a college basketball fan:

When Rick Majerus died Saturday afternoon in Los Angeles, after failing to survive the heart disease that had diminished him, I hope he had loved ones around him. I hope those closest to him where there, holding his hand, getting him through this final day — just as Coach Majerus got Andre Miller through Utah and to that graduation ceremony, just as Coach got Keith Van Horn through the initial disbelief and grief of unexpectedly losing a father, just as Coach got Brian Conklin through the stages of development that took him from being an awkward and unsure freshman to a commanding, confident senior leader.

I hope Rick Majerus knew how much he was loved. I hope he realized that he’d made a tremendous, positive impact on so many lives. You’re going to have to forgive me for making this personal, which I don’t do often, but I cried on Saturday night, and I don’t even know how I pulled myself together to write this wholly inadequate tribute to Rick.
