Gaudreau is sick, he's so good! What's even more awesome is you can tell he's a winner. He's already one of the best players in NCAA, I really like this kid. Hopefully Jankow has a similar breakout next year.
There really isn't much to blow up if they both leave (I doubt they will).
Yeah, we might trade players like Cammalleri, Bouwmeester, Giordano, etc. They'd all bring us good returns, but nothing completely earth-shattering. I also think a number of them would just want to stay in Calgary, like Glencross. I do think veteran support is a key component of developing younger players.
I don't think Iginla will leave, but management has to get an idea of what he plans to do.
Most teams that blow it up don't have much to blow up from either.
Besides, nothing really important, but Sven Bärtschi is nominated as "Newcomer of the year" at the Swiss Sports Awards. Three sportsmen stand for choice, Bärtschis competitors are the football player Granit Xhaka and the biathlete Benjamin Weger.
I hope Bärtschi wins, even if its absolutely irrelevant, as he is the best athlete of them. But I think people will vote for Xhaka as he plays in the Bundesliga and already plays regularly for the national team with 20 years of age. Plus, Bärtschi is far away in North America and you hear absolutely nothing about him in the media. The lockout isn't doing him any favours.
Chance that Gibson will be injured for world juniors could mean a decent opportunity for Gillies to start... Would be pretty big for Calgary to have a top line player (maybe USA's best player) in Gaudreau and the starting goaltender in Gillies. Also hoping Sieloff is on the second D pairing with Trouba.

I've heard that Deblouw might get an invite to camp for a 4line position... I'll try and find the link.
One word that perfectly describes Patrick Sieloff? Competitor.
What an absolutely fearless player that would do anything to win. I caught the 2nd and 3rd periods of the game tonight and I counted at least 6 or 7 shots blocks from the kid. You can tell that he likes to pick his spots physically and won't risk his defensive positioning on a consistent basis to land a huge hit.
I have mentioned it in the past but his mobility is definitely a huge asset for a player of his play style. He clearly stands out on that Windsor blueline that is for sure.
JG has 2 more points tonight making it 21 points in 12 games.
1.75 P/G... prettty, prettty good.
That's almost as much as Sven was putting up last year, but in a better league. I wonder how many point Johnny would be putting up in the WHL right now.

I have said many times that I believe that JG has more skill than Sven.
