They can slip or even be detached too. Some guys have been known to have their's end up in their wives' purses after marriage.
I cringed haaaaaaard for about a half second until I finally thought about it.
Darn you.
Unrelated: for my lacrosse fundraiser we were selling apparel like t shirts, sweatshirts, and the like. If you sold any 10 items you get a jacket for free. I got 12, mo trucka! Free windbreaker jacket for this guy. And possibly a free tank top jersey thing for selling 5. Not sure if I qualify for both or only get the bigger option. Either way, I'll be happy.
Also made a Christmas list for my mom finally. The announcements of the new star wars sequel trilogy have really brought me back into that mythos. I just throw a bunch of stuff on my list, probably $1500 worth of stuff so even when she picks and chooses like I know she will, I can still be mostly surprised. It works out for everyone. I can still narrow stuff down to what I want, and my mom still gets to surprise me and treat me like I'm 9, like she wants to. Anyway, yeah, Star Wars all over my list. Books, blu ray rebuys, art books, the like.
Breaking news out of North Korea today: The government's official news agency has reported that archaeologists have discovered a unicorn lair belonging to King Tongmyong, the founder of the ancient Korean kingdom of Koguryo. The one-horned hideout, which the "scientists" say dates back to A.D. 1392, was "a relief palace for King Tongmyong [and] the lair of his unicorn." The site, located just 220 yards from a temple in Pyongyang, was marked with a rock that said "Unicorn Lair." Aaaaand here's where we get skeptical. A clearly labeled unicorn cave that goes unnoticed for more than 600 years? Um, North Korea, are you sure you didn't just accidentally wander into a Spencer’s Gifts?
In other news, I'd have a chance to play for an amateur floorball team in one of the lower divisions. I'm out of shape, but I'd love it. Three problems though: 1) I need a new stick and shoes 2) I can't really afford them 3) The practice is a) in Myllypuro, which is an hour from here using public transport and b) on monday evenings, which clashes with my adult college* schedule.
Oh well. And I really wanted to do some team sports, too. Been a long time, but I've played floorball every once in a while with buddies and I reckon I could be decent enough to survive at a proper team, given some conditioning and some time getting used to.
*It's not exactly "college" as in U.S. terms, but it leads to university and I'm aiming to complete my abitur in 2 years. Really hard term to translate as there's not a real equivalent.
