That's the proposed arena/entertainment complex in downtown Edmonton.
Obviously, Russia is a massive country and the KHL seems to have all the money in the world behind it, but all these modern arenas and plans are very impressive. The most recent 3k+ arena in Finland was built in the late 90s.
It is an oil dome proposal for Edmonton. But the chances that it will be built any time soon are rather small. http://www.tsn.ca/nhl/story/?id=407598 It's a great project, I wouldn't mind if some KHL team picks it up.
This is BS. I can name you more than 20 rinks that were opened last year. And I'm not even following it.
Just 5 minute research and I could find this.
4.11.12 Nizhniy Novgorod
30.09.12 Kursk region
31.08.12 Tomsk region.
Your point? Russia shouldn't build new arenas? Rinks should be a priority? How is this even connected?
I have read that Fetisov said the plan is to build another 300 rinks.Found it strange that only 6 rinks have been built the last year according to IIHF.Well, I want Russia to build more rinks to be competetive.Simple as that
