It's the Panthers Vs Chiefs. It's meaningless.

But Pyro is right. They'll play with a moment of silence. Sad to say but it's only one player so they won't cancel for that.

He shot his girlfriend before killing himself? Easily the most cowardly thing to do in modern society. See you in hell, Belcher.

Just when you thought things couldn't get worse with this organization, it just did.

RIP to the victim.

granted it wasn't a player but the Panthers kinda went through a similar deal when Rae Carruth had his gf murdered

How can anyone play under these conditions

How can you coach when you just saw a player shoot himself in front of your eyes

They might push the game back a few days

Not officially, but there is plenty of speculation that it was Jovan Belcher.

It's one thing to take yourself out, it's a whole 'nother thing to take someone innocent with you.

Maybe he couldn't control it, but that's disgusting. If this was a psychological issue something needs to be done right away. I suppose we're lucky he didn't shoot the coach and GM before himself... He did shoot his girlfriend..

I feel bad for everyone involved. Also, as if Romeo Crennel already wasn't having a bad enough year; worst team in the NFL, pretty much guaranteed losing your job at the end of the season, now witnessing one of your players (who he was probably close with) shoot himself in front of you? I don't know if it has ever been worse for him

This is just messed up. Wow, how do you not feel for that organization and the families right now. Just wow.

If you're Crennel, do you coach tomorrow? I mean I know the macho answer, but honestly how do you coach a football game after watching a guy blow his brains out in front of you?

If the game does go on it's going to be so uncomfortable to watch and cheer and enjoy (insert joke here). Reminds me of when the Hurricanes played the Senators right after the assistant coach's daughter died. They were totally unfocused and it showed.

But you can't just push it back a few days because then it impacts other games. Plus other logistical problems. You either play it as scheduled or cancel it.
