Yeah, let's just accept that he won't get moved. Plus in my opinion he's fine in Sarnia right now. It's a highly inconsistent team but not a bad one per se.

I'm 100% behind Galchenyuk and I will probably buy his jersey when he play for us but Grigorenko is also a sick talent with amazing hands and shot. I feel that Galchenyuk has more upside tough to become a dominant center mainly because of his top notch work ethic.

Both are 18 years old, deciding who is the best is a discussion for 5, 10, 15 and 20 years from now.
This would be especially true if this was a forum for history fans.
But some people on this site enjoy discussing hockey prospects. Both
of these players are prospects this year. By next year they may be
NHL players, and it could be too late to talk about them as prospects.

That 1st assist was indeed disgusting.

The determination on the 2nd assist to get that puck was also nice to see.

And on his goal, I love how he just decided to turn on the jets and go right to the net.
Love the commentator right before his goal.

"If Galchenyuk is left off team USA there should be an inquiry!"

Could you imagine these boards if that happened?

I still don't think of Galchenyuk as American, lol. They're lucky to have him.

Yes. For those fans that like comparing prospects, is this really
the wrong place to do it ?

There's a lovely place called Polls on the main board I think.

What we mean by this is that we don't have to put down Grigorenko to pimp Gally and that's what ends up happening all the time when we discuss them as a fanbase.

If his father was the GM, then yes it would matter and a trade wouldn't happen.

But he isn't the GM. He's also made it clear he doesn't aspire to become a coach and would retire from the coaching ranks as soon as Gally makes the NHL, so I would guess that if Gally were traded he'd leave the coaching staff right after.

It could easily be the way around. Daddy may think that Alex is better off
on another team. But not being GM, he can't move him. So he does the next
best thing. He gets involved with the coaching staff, in order to have as much
input as possible.

I agree with you.

I understand that for the most part, it's just poking fun at the posters who doubted Galchenyuk or wanted Grigorenko more, but it's starting to get tiresome.

If I understand correctly, you're saying that because his father isn't the GM then it doesn't matter? I guess I would disagree. I think Beaulieu, as the GM, does have to take into consideration that Galchenyuk Sr. is an asst. coach on his team, and that he might prefer certain options over others with regards to his son.

I'm not saying that he has the ultimate say in things, but it isn't unreasonable that Galchenyuk Sr.'s opinion probably does matter in the end.

Beaulieu has to consider the long-term future of his franchise as the Coach and GM.

A Galchenyuk trade would be 100% about building for the future in Sarnia if it happens.

Gally Sr, since he won't be back in Sarnia next year barring something unforeseen (Gally somehow being back in the OHL), really would not have have any say unless it's written in Gally's contract with the Sting that they can block a trade.

But more to the point, do you know anything that suggests that, Gally Sr.
would want Gally Jr. to remain with the Sting for the rest of the season ?

We'll probably never know what he prefers.

Goal! Galchenyuk!

Beautiful goal, steals the puck and carries it into the slot and shoots.
