Eberle - 10 G + 11 A = 21 Pts.
Schultz - 5 G + 14 A = 19 Pts.
Hall - 5 G + 11 A = 16 Pts.
RNH - 6 G + 6 A = 12 Pts.
So, player of the month will probably go to either Ebs or Schultz, both had huge months. Rookie of the month better go to Schultz, and it shouldn't even be close. Thank goodness for the Barons, or I'd have nothing to follow, to get my Oiler fix. The scary thing is, I think they're just getting warmed up.
Well for one, they had one of the leagues best defenses to back them up each play.... Now I know they often had to go up against the other teams top defenses, but the opponents were often coerced into being soft on them because Ben 'the hammer' Eager would intimidate them with his fighting abilities. For instance Weber and Suter played crappy against the kids because of this. Now all of a sudden these kids are in the AHL, with very little protection. There's no Horcoff to save the day in a pinch and Eager is nowhere to be found. These kids are now going up against the top players in the AHL every night just like they did in the NHL.... uh, but since they are not being over protected... wait a second.......... Anyways my point is, they are not leading the league in points so they are not as good as we think they are. No records=no good.
If the Barons finish first in the league and those 4 are the top scoreres. Then I think the season is a overwhelming success. It could very well happen.
RNH has a Landeskog rating of -7.85. Savvy hockey fans know that the LR is a measure of shots blocked, hits thrown, and Swedishness exuded per skating stride. Unacceptable.
Like I said before, Jordan Eberle doesn't exist on the physical plane. He's just the temporary manifestation of a high shooting percentage.
Justin Schultz is the spawn of Satan. Good thing he's just using the Oilers to score a big UFA contract in two years.
Only four of Hall's points were hockey IQ points. The rest don't count because he didn't contemplate the metaphysical consequences of a goal after scoring one. Instead, he'd go high-five his team mates. What a doofus.
As the math clearly demonstrates, the rebuild is a disaster so far.

And Yakupov is just scoring becuase he is in Russia. Since we all know he has never played hockey in North America we should assume that the moment he steps foot on North American soil his hockey ability will crash like the Berlin Wall.

I always suspected Ontario was under Russian control.
This is the worst case scenario for every other divisional team. Schultz getting groomed in the A and getting some experience that will undoubtedly help his NHL transition. If he had jumped right into the NHL it's possible it would have been a turbulent season. Don't see as many growing pains to come now though... Unfortunately.
Landeskog=Sequin>>>>>>>>>>>>>>RNH>>>>>>>>Hall>>>>> >>>KHL guy>>>>>unsustainable shooting % guy
Sounds about right from opposing fanbases perspectives. Where does J Schultz fit into that value line though? He's going to be pretty hard to devalue by even the most biased opposing fans.

Unproven in the NHL, no defense, will leave as soon as his contract is up, points in the AHL are worthless etc etc.

HFBoards will find a reason why Schultz is crap.
This is the one that grinds my gears. I haven't watched every game, but I've watched most. And I just don't see it, Schultz is not bad defensively at all. The only thing he doesn't do it play really physical, but that's totally fine because you can still play defence without crushing guys into the boards. His stickwork is really good, and he's mostly really good positionally.
We'll see if he leaves in 2 years or not. But the kid is already saying he wants to win a Cup with the Oilers, and I doubt he expects to do that within 2 years. I think he's in for the long haul.
I haven't watched Schultz at all but I have read way more positives about his defensive plays than negatives. I know last game he gave up a goal but got it right back.
I hope he stays and isn't using us to get a big contract offer.. We'll see!

Barron's defense including Schultz has been brutal . The others on his team have just out sucked him.
Danis IMO has been the best Baron even after taking the contribution of our 'big 4' into the mix.
This is pretty much the core of the Oilers future. Long way to go before we become a contender.
