Marty wants to play. You think he wants to spend the twilight of his career BS'ing with the union, and all this crap with Jacobs, and other worthless bums?

Can't say I'm surprised since it concerns the Leafs.

It wouldn't be terrible.......if we were talking fantasy teams.

And on a secondary note, I haven't even read the Edmonton/NJ one.
Those are always sideshows.

I have a feeling Kadri will be more remembered for his shootout goal against Marty, than anything else.

That they are. I was surprised to see that it took 4 pages for someone to mention Henrique's shaky start in Albany, though.

It's like they don't know the entire team is playing like hammered ****.

Haha! I'm talking about by all the Marty haters. That, and maybe remembered for coming to camp in what was the word used? Unacceptable levels of body fat? Do people seriously think he's worth as much as Henrique? Henrique has proven more in the NHL. This guy hasn't even done much with two cups of coffee.

Actually he'll probably be more remembered as the guy Burke punked Bryan Murray with on-camera

You want Kadri, right?
Yeah.
Well we're taking him.

I really don't value Kadri as high as them.

Joke's on Burke, since Ottawa grabbed Jared Cowen and took Silfverberg later, who looks to easily be on par with Kadri if not better.

Nobody values Kadri as highly as them.

As for Edmonton, those trade proposals are the worst on the site. It somehow always turns into a Henrique/Tedenby/Josefson vs. Paajarvi pissing match. If you're talking D, it turns into Tallinder vs. everyone because apparently Tallinder would be their #8.

I like both ahead of Kadri. He's really nothing special.

What Murray said to his scouting team off-camera afterwards:

"Right guys, they're not taking Cowen, we don't need to trade up."

It's mostly just that one poster who says that, but ya, he's completely insane to think that. Tallinder is not a huge upgrade over the guys they have, but to say he wouldn't make the team at all is crazy.

@TGfireandice

Stephen Gionta has signed an AHL contract with the Albany Devils.

Yeah! Gio! Not sure it will help Albany though. Considering there are even better players up there, and they can't do much. I'm glad he gets to play though. It will be fun watching him again, and he's probably been the most screwed by this lockout. Been on an AHL salary for years, aside from a miniscule percentage of NHL salary the last 2 years. Definitely should be a better option than Darcy Zajac.

Wonder if Gio gets his C back..I doubt it though.

Who's the captain now anyway ? Leach ?

Leach, but I don't think Gio gets it back.

Wonder if this move was just made after Henrique went out, or to get Gio some playing time since he's been playing in the minors for years now?

Random lockout thought:

If the season is wiped out... maybe it's good for us. It gives JVB the year to get his finances in order and Lou can go into next free agency period with the budget and space to get a good forward so we don't have to rely on Tedenby and Butler.

I can see the benefits of a full season lockout. I just can't bare the thought of a 2nd lost season in 8 years, though. I can't find myself rooting for it.

Trying to see the bright side in some of the financial issues, but I can't

It's actually bad for us long term because we lose the Stanley Cup momentum. The fringe fans are what generate the real revenue and we lost most of them with the lockout. Could have sold a lot more tickets than usual with a season this year. That idea's gone now.

Look at it this way though. Vanderbeek doesn't have to pay out all the millions to the players for the lost season, but I think it hurts him, more than helps. The team is virtually bringing in no money really, the debt on the arena is still looming as those dates won't be filled too.
