Byron is a centreman who recently represented Team Canada East at the World Junior Challenge. Butler is a right winger who last year played on the CCHL champion Nepean Raiders.

Next the Bears acquired defensemen Patrrick Crampton '95 from the Hawkesbury Hawks in exchange for a PDF.

The Bears then dealt Crampton & PDF to Kemptville for defenseman Jesse Lussier '94 and the rights to winger Brandon Lesway. Lussier is a 6'3" 186 lbs. rearguard. Lesway is presently playing for Sherbrooke of the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League.
Wishful thinking on my part, but what if Lesway and McNamee did not return to Sherbrooke after Christmas. That would be "scarey"

yea they would be so strong up front they would not need any defence

as it sits now they still need a dman...IMO they do not have a single one good defensively

Grads definitly needed help on the back end, and Raiders are toughing up for the playoffs, i think this is a big move

I just heard that Millett and Leduc were traded to Ottawa for Giberson, Kuffner and a 1st round pick. Still waiting for a confirmation.

Some interesting moves this year. Everyone knew Byron Lussier wanted out but who would've though to SF? I was thinking Nepean Ottawa or Pembroke. Don't understand the Debrincat move, as the Raiders are already bvery weak defensively, and to give up one of, if not the best power play specialists in the league for a 3rd line grit player? I don't know about that. Suprised Cornwall hasn't been part of anything yet, they could
use a dman or 2, or even a solid depth player for that matter. Next to get traded is Gonu from Kville, you'd have to think he'd get traded back home to Pembroke but I wouldn't count out Nepean or Ottawa since (sources tell me) he is billeting in Barrhaven now. Should
be interesting.

Decorum

MHL, Amherst Ramblers, introduce rules that use of inappropriate language will result in being escorted from the arena. No inappropriate language including f-bombs.

http://ca.sports.yahoo.com/blogs/jrh...3Rpb25z;_ylv=3

Too bad this league does not have some similar policy or rule as it would put a stop to some team's coaching staff.

SMITHS FALLS BEARS NEWS

Before I get to the Bears news, sources tell me Nepean wanted Rodier last season but Kanata was asking for too much. In my opinion this is a good acquisition for the Nepean Raiders. They now have a "tough guy" plays with lots of emotion and adds some grit to their lineup.

Going back to the Bears news... Adding NHL prospect Byron to the mix and 6'3 OFD Lussier the Bears are making it clear that they are in the runs for qualifying in the Fred Page Cup.

Head coad Mark Grady has a lot to look forward to with this young offensive minded group. Also rumour has it the Bears might be getting back McNamee who played for the club several years ago and Lesway who they also required his right yesterday afternoon.

With forwards Buonincontri, Marchand out of the line-up with injuries right now you can only imagine how scary this line-up would be. In my opinion this is how the line-up would look like if everyone was healthy and ready to play..

Buonincontri-Maniccia-Lesway
McNamee-Byron-McLaren
Carroll-Crete-Butler
Eardley-Trombetta-Marchand

Akeson-Lussier
Sexton-Romoff
Soligo-MacMillan

Martin
Howe
* I put McLaren on the right side simply because he did a great job on the right side of Robertson last year.

* Making Crete centering a big body's like Carroll and Butler, can really give him more opportunity to use his speed and open his ice.

*

Debrincat for Rodier........doesn't make sense to me...I think Cumberland got the better of this one. I'm not saying Debrincat is the be all and end all, but he has elite level hands. Maybe Peter Goulet knows something we don't?
Debrincat gets 2 points for Cumberland tonight and they win.

Nepean finally beats Cornwall this year. 5-1. Cornwall missed the net at least 20 times from inside the Ringette line. Yarwood played defense, struggled at times, but was not hesitant, went for big hits, carried the puck, penalties, fight and points. Herlihey takes the left wing on the top line with Neil & Hedges, didn't waste the opportunity, 3 goals.
Nepean taking to many penalties, they need to correct that, Cornwall forwards might be smaller then Nepean's.
Smith Falls looking unbeatable on Paper, Excellent moves even if they are partly to keep Lussier & Byron away from the other contenders.

I guess PG has enough confidence in his pp without debricat, as they go 3-4 tonight. And i wouldnt say rodier is a 3rd line player. I do agree nepean does need to add some peices on D. Looks like cumberlands side of the deal paid off for them tonight.

Again with the Nepean D not being good enough... We shall see I guess.

Meanwhile, the big, mobile, CP D gives up 8 to Brockville.

Isn't Buonicontri done for the year? and Mcname coming back is a huge long shot, not sure what lesways status is.
