Game times to kill Canadian WJC buzz? (TSN's broadcast schedule)
Game times to kill Canadian WJC buzz? (TSN's broadcast schedule)
This isn't new information or anything, but it struck me to look up when Canada will actually be playing since the tournament is overseas. Who's up for some 4am ET/1 am PT games? I realize Russia gets the prime game times for their home crowd but this looks like a nightmare for TSN ratings. I recall watching early morning games in the past. Nothing this early though. Maybe they are subject to change?

This is going to be fun for real. Just gonna have to wake up early and go pick up some Tim Hortons coffee and watch this tourney. Worth getting up for 4am.
I remember when I was a kid, the games were more often in Europe. We were waking up really soon to watch the games. We were then playing hockey in the street all day and we were pretending to be junior players. I remember one year I was Alyn McCauley because I thought it was a girl since she/he had girl's name. It was the good old times. I'll do it again for sure, except the pretending to be Alyn McCauley part...

Does anyone really think they won't replay the games at reasonable times? My guess is they replay the Canada games at like 6PM the same day the game was played. You have to think with no NHL they will probably replay each Canadian game a few times.
I can't speak for TSN, but NHLnetwork replayed the Subway series games like 5 times for each game because of no NHL. The game was at 6PM, then replayed at 9PM, then replayed at 2AM, then again at 11AM and again at 2 PM.
So I wouldn't worry too much about being able to see the games.
You will watch and you will enjoy. Staying up for whole night to watch Olympics (In Finland matches were in middle of the night and I mean like 2-6 am) and going to work next morning half zombie sucked ass but it was worth it. I especially remember that Canada - Slovakia game. Came out at like 5-7 AM but damn it was magical. Little Slovakia rallying at the end, Luongo stopping Demitra from tying in the late seconds... that was epic. And watching at that time weirdly made it actually more awesome.
That was one fine tournament.
EDIT: I remember as a kid I got special permission to watch 2004 World Cup final. Fell asleep during intermissions but had clock to wake me up. Ended up in heartbreak but it's one of those memories that make you realize how much you love this game.

I'm sure they'll replay it like three times during the day.
It will be a nice change of pace from recent years.. I think it is going to be fun! might even sleep in between periods instead of listening to idiots ramble
