Sceviour is racking up the points. At a better pace than Eakin.

On another note, freaking happy for Oleksiak. Another assist for him so far. I believe that puts him at 1-8-9 in 19 games. That's pretty good for a Dman that people said didn't have much of an offensive side. And in his first pro year too.

Really? I think the most often criticism has been that he didn't have much of a physical side. He's always had the offensive element, otherwise he wouldn't have been drafted at 14.

I don't remember hearing much about his offense ever...

Physicality has always been a problem though, and from what I've seen, still is.

Actually now that I think about it I've seen random HF posters from other teams say that Oleksiak doesn't have any offense. But that doesn't mean anything.

Does Cody Eakin have top 6 potential? I was very high on him in his WHL days, have you guys seen anything that could bode well for his success in the NHL level?

His offensive potential was widely questioned at the time of his draft. The reason he was projected to go (and went) so high was his relatively low bust potential (most felt he was pretty close to definitely being at least a productive NHL defenseman of some sort) coupled with the tantalizing possibilities of reaching his full potential. It's not as if his statistics in college were enough to strongly suggest he would be able to contribute a whole lot offensively in the NHL.

Eakin will for sure be at least a 3rd line center. I think he can definitely be a good 2nd line center, but the way the team is going that might be hard. In the next 5 years we might be seeing straight down the middle Benn-Faksa-Eakin-Winther/Winkler(?)

While both might be ready within the next couple of years (Faksa and Eakin), I'd still rather bump them both down 1 spot and keep Roy or someone else for as long as we can.

That's based off of him not being here. Since non of us have any idea how long his contract extension will be if he gets one. And if he can still hold that #2 spot at 34/35 years old.

Nope, doesn't seem 100degree is covering it either. Mark just tweeted they're down 2-0 after the first period.

Wow. Two quick goals for the Stars, Jordie Benn first, then Reilly Smith snipes it immediately after.

Two point night for Smith so far. Eakin and Chiasson get the assist on Smith's.

I haven't had time to watch any of the Texas games recently. How does Riley Smith look? Is he playing with Chiasson or Fraser?

Smith-Eakin-Chiasson is the top line for now. Smith's been on fire since breaking the drought a few games ago.

Sounds like a pretty solid top AHL line. Heard they ended up winning tonight after 10 rounds of the shootout.
