Henrique is one of the most dangerous PK'ers in the league....since we are pointing out one asset of a players game.

The value is more then fair for NJ but doesn't make any sense. NJ needs NHL quality forwards now. I hated giving up Cormier a few years ago and I will really hate giving up Matteau unless it's part of a trade to land a star.

Unfortunately no. After watching a scary amount of JR hockey last year I have been too busy with my career. From what I am told he is stuck on the 3rd line 1st PP. The WJC will be a good barometer of his skill level (if he makes USA).

"That top 4 isn't scaring anybody"

Right, and adding Jake Gardiner would strike fear in the hearts of the entire league.

As many have said, value is there, but doesn't make sense for either side in terms of what they already have.

When this was posted, I'm pretty sure there were two threads that had to do with trading a defenseman out of New Jersey on the first page with a third on the second.

What could have possibly prompted you to see that, and then make a thread trying to give us another defenseman and a bust in return for our budding 22 year old center and the top forward prospect in our organization?

No deal as a Devil fan. Say what you want about Henrique, 45pt. or 50 pt. center, he showed what it takes in playoffs. The kid was a winner in juniors and showed he's a winner in the NHL. He's clutch, you just don't trade guys like that.

Kadri is a bust but Matteau is a top forward prospect.

Makes sense buddy

Wait a second.

So you are proposing New Jersey trades the future of the team, someone who won two playoff series for them, a Calder finalist and somebody who has to be one of the best young forwards the Devils have in Adam Henrique plus a top blue chip prospect in Matteau

For Jake Gardiner and a proven draft bust in Nazem Kadri...

Yeah, no thanks. Toronto fans should be licking their chops if this deal ever happened because New Jersey gets fleeced. Big time.

Devils fans call Tedenby a bust and yet Kadri was drafted in the same year...

In fact, Tedenby has more NHL goals and assists to this point.

Does this mean anything? No, I am ranting...

You must be ranting. Tedenby has played more games than Kadri on a much better team with more skilled forwards. Leafs management has let Kadri sit in the AHL and practically melt away his ELC without giving him atleast 40 games straight of NHL action.

Much better team, yeah. Better offense?

Goals scored by year:

2012: TOR 227 // NJ 216
2011: TOR 213 // NJ 171
2010: TOR 210 // NJ 216
2009: TOR 244 // NJ 238
2008: TOR 228 // NJ 198
2007: TOR 254 // NJ 206
2006: TOR 254 // NJ 233

Don't blame Leafs management, it's Kadri's fault that Kadri isn't playing in the NHL.

No thanks from Leafs.

Gardiner = Henrique (different position, same age, same draft, both coming off great rookie campaigns)

Kadri > Matteau (Kadri has three years of development on Matteau. Kadri was also a much higher draft pick. Matteau was almost drafted in the 2nd round just this past season. I think Kadri will crack the Leafs whenever the season starts and make an offensive impact in our top 9.)

The teams that Tedenby played on were the 2010-2011 New Jersey Devils and then he was sent down in 2011-2012 in like December or January. Not really barn burners.

Matteau won't be NHL ready for 2-3 years. Not a prospect we need. Kadri is worth more them him

Its hard to call him a bust when he put up double the points of Henrique so far this year.

Kadri has no value on NJ as a center so I doubt he would be coming here. Matteau fills a role on the wing for NJ, size on the wings is a trademark of past devils teams. Like I said, losing Cormier sucked a bit, losing Matteau would really suck. Those players are worth their weight in gold along the boards and on the cycle.

Matteau may do the Simmonds type jump, physically he can handle it.

It's pretty hilarious you're trying to use AHL scoring to justify anything.

How about you use NHL scoring to compare the two instead? Oh wait.

You be sure to let me know when Kadri is a Calder finalist. Then you can try and compare him to Henrique...
