i'm hoping TSN will replay the games later in the day (esp. w/ no NHL i'd think they would)...i've seen ppl on twitter sending tweets to TSN asking about it but haven't noticed any response.

I can't speak for TSN, but NHLnetwork replayed the Subway series games like 5 times for each game because of no NHL. The game was at 6PM, then replayed at 9PM, then replayed at 2AM, then again at 11AM and again at 2 PM.

So I wouldn't worry too much about being able to see the games.
Yeah, this. I'll just watch the first replay. Although I'm sure I'll set my alarm to watch the Canada/USA game live.

Maybe they are subject to change?

Saturday, January 5 Gold Medal Game 7:30am/4:30am TSN
Bronze Medal Game 4am/1am TSN
is this tourney being played somewhere farther East then normal? I only ask because I know UEFA Champions League matches played in Russia start at like Noon ET so why are these so early?

not that it really matters to me since I stay up to 5am on a regular basis with my job so I'll be able to watch them live.

yeah we can look at the replay the same night but in a world of communications, it's really hard to stay unaware of the score. I try my best but this means no twitter, short discussions with friends,no tsn.ca, probably avoid hfboards. Knowing the result just completely kills the thrill.

Some of my fondest hockey memories were waking up at like 5am on school days and watching the '97 WJC games in Geneva and then heading to school (and falling asleep in class by noon)

Don't worry... I think TSN will be able to find away (especially if the lockout continues) to build the thing up to the point where it is the most important hockey tournament ever. Well at the very least the most important until the 2014 tournament rolls around.

Exactly... The sooner these other nations realize that when it comes to hockey they are nothing more than elaborate props the better.

Getting up in the middle of the night to watch hockey is awesome, it has kind of become a christmas/new year's tradition the recent years and I will sincerely miss it!

Stop complaining about having to deal with it once every four years or so.

Heard a TSN employee speak. Things he said:

-Games will be re-played in prime time later That night
-Website will offer a "no spoiler" option that doesn't give away the score
-News on Facebook will still be posted.
-Realize ratings will be lower
-They're branding it as "only true Canadians watch that late/early"

what's the big deal anyway?... instead of beer and chips while watching the game in the evening...it's waffles and maple syrup for breakfast watching in your band new skives Santa brought you.

If we get scored on, us Leaf fans can throw our waffles at the tv early, amiright?

Canada will be experiencing some true first-world problems during this time. Europeans, pray for us please and thanks.
