Dumb penalty from Adam leads to a Marlie PP goal, Aucoin to Kadri cross-crease. 1-1

Edit: And a minute or so later, Biega with a wrister from just inside the blue line that Scrivens waves at, weeeeeak goal. 2-1 Amerks

Edit: Foligno squares off with Acton, who gets absolutely pummelled by Marcus

I must say that I really like Marcus Foligno.

No wonder Buffalo was more than willing to offer up Kassian for Hodgson; Foligno seems to be an upgrade on Kassian in nearly every way.

By far this is the most entertaining period from the Amerks in recent weeks.

Finley and Scott go at it and Finley goes down and covers up after taking one right of the jaw.

Oh, Schiestel. Puts one right on Ranger's tape, who walks into the slot and rips it past Leggio. A terrible shift by all on the ice, including Legault.

How in God's name did they give two assists on that goal? It went from Schiestel to Ranger and then the goal. Oye.

He had to go into his butterfly. A guy was walking into his shot in the middle of the slot. Goaltenders don't stay on their feet in that situation.

Am I to understand Schiestel and JGL were a pairing and out there with 5 minutes to go? Rolston is a joke.

Great steal by Marcus at the red line, dishes it over to Flynn, but Scrivens is there with the glove. May have been a tough saucer, but if Flynn gets it back to Marcus that's game.

the turnover by Schiestel for the tying goal was just unreal. Why the hell he is even playing let alone on the ice with 5 minutes left is beyond me.

That was a soft goal by Kadri. Marlies get a 3-on-2 after Biega gets caught deep in the offensive zone. But Leggio has to stop that one.

It really doesn't matter how many bad plays Finley makes or Biega or many guys on this team make they are not accountable and that is part of the reason Amerks are not doing so well. Friday night Biega looses his battle behind the net, Brennan gets caught watching and not worrying about any Marlie player on the ice and a goal is scored. Last night Biega goes for a skate behind the Marlie net in overtime because it is better to pad your stats on this team than win a game. He is on the ice with Frattin and Kadri and he decides to abandon his defensive position. Frattin even had time to slow the play down. Mancari is minus 11 so lets reward him with powerplay and penalty killing time because his defensive game is sooo good. Coaches put a rookie defenceman who is not ready for the game in his own zone with a defenceman who has not played since the beginning of the season together in the last 5 minutes. You have to think the Marlies are going to have their best guys out there in the last 5 minutes, Many players are not accountable on this team and you can see it in the selfish play of many of them. Guys are doing whatever they want out there. There is no team play going on right now. Many top players have sat out games this year on other teams due to bad play but on this team you get rewarded. Coach says guys have to bring their "A" game or they won't play, guess he thinks the play of his players right now is their "A' game.

I think this is a chance for the new guys to get some minutes when the going is tough, let the brass who can do what and make some decisions. A lot of the great D we thought we had are not quite as good as we earlier projected. I cannot see us writing off a high pick for a stud defensive defenceman if the right one-Nurse?-is available. Plus the Marlies have a lot of good AHL vets mixed in with high picks--they have some scoring depth up front--we definitely are lacking in snipers.

They have guys who can score, they're just either injured (Hodgson, Tropp) or underperforming (Mancari, Adam). I expect Mancari to hit a hot streak soon. He's a guy who scores 28-32 goals seemingly every season, and I expect his 5% shooting percentage to start correcting itself soon--he hasn't shot under 10% since 2008-09, so I expect he'll progress to his mean.
