I don't think we've covered this before.

All the hype made me think Wick was gonna be a stud.

Wrong.

I remember Kaigorodov being touted as a #2 centre the year he came over. The cupboards were veryy bare at that time though.

Kaigorodov was not only hyped by us but TSN had articles calling him our long-sought after 2nd line center, praising his success in the KHL.

Zubov and Wick have to be up there. Even though I really wanted to see more from Wick, he had good shifts with Spezza.

What about Mattias Karlsson? Although I'd say we just never gave him a fair enough shot after a brilliant rookie campaign in Bingo.

This is probably the only prospect that I think we didn't give a "fair shot" to.

The knock on him was mobility/speed if I recall; I believe he got most of his points on the power play in Bingo.

EDIT: And I think we were rolling with Brendan Bell at the time, so it was for sure frustrating never to have him get a real shot.

I remember the name, I don't remember him, period. Tells you enough on how much he was talked about and now he's...umm...where?

Ya, we are unlucky with drafting Russians.

Has to be David Runblad!

I remember the hype about him was ridiculous especially on here.

Nikita Filatov also had alot of hype coming over getting a fresh start and all but to me it still has to be Rundblad.

But Rundblad will still probably be an NHL player one day. He had more hype than Filatov, but he was at least somewhat deserving of it.

Rundblad was hyped the most for sure. Except he did/does deserve the hype.

Kaigorodov for sure. The fact that he was crowned our 2nd line centre before even playing a game was ridiculous. When he finally did play games for us he was one of the softest perimeter players I've ever seen play for us.

Peter Regin.

Why anyone likes this guy is beyond me. He sucks plain and simple. He isn't skilled enough to be in the top 6 and the guy can't stay healthy. A fly touches him and he blows out his shoulder.

When was he ever regarded as highly as most of the guys on this list? Plus he has played his way into the top 9 on this team, had their been a season.

This.

He was always seen as a good prospect where as some of the guys on the list were seen as great can't miss prospects.

Most hype I've seen Regin get is people suggesting if he stays healthy he could be a 20-20 guy. Which is fair imo.

Loooooooooooool, no comment. Our best player in the '10 playoffs and one of our best players to start the year last year before he got injured.

Dacosta. That guy hasn't done anything since he's been signed outside of one play that Karlsson made him look good.

Kaigorodov.

I wasn't even paying close enough attention to the farm and prospects at the time, but I still know he was over-hyped.
