Very cool. Sounds like Casiraghi would be a good fit. I forgot all about him, pretty good player.

Casiraghi???

Oh man, completely forgot he even existed.

Have no idea if he'd be a good coach though. But I hope this does not turn out like the Aaron Winter experiment, a good player who couldn't find a job in Europe for a reason then come here to have a terrible coaching career.

Trade window opening up Monday.
Several MLS teams have agreed to trades in recent days, but a league-wide moratorium on trades until after MLS Cup has kept those deals from being approved.

http://www.soccerbyives.net/2012/12/...up-roster.html

RSL Olave and Espindola to NYRB for large amount of allocation money.

RSL to trade Will johnson to portland for more allocation money too.

They have salary cap issues. By trading away Olave, Espindola and Johnson, RSL are set to save $1 million in salary, while generating more than $500,000 in allocation money, sources with knowledge of the deals confirmed to SBI.

They are supose to have more major moves coming.

Its some nice additions for NYRB and Portland.

Lots of things to follow till the start of the training camp, new coach and maybe some roster movements.

Casiraghi's experience coaching the U-21 makes him an interesting candidate.

Olave to NYRB is a phenomenal move. A Quick MLS Established CB.

Pissed that they got Espinolda as well though. He is the winger we needed here in Montreal. I remember when we played RSL, he tormented our defence for 90 minutes running around and stretching our back 4.

Aghh what's going on with RSL doing a firesale? They had a good team. We could've used Espindola on that left flank so badly.

NYRB with guys like Henry , Cooper, Espindola and Le Toux will probably have to trade somebody or let Le Toux go since is contract is gonna expire if im right.

Would be nice to have him so we could go 4-3-3 with Di Vaio Wenger and Le Toux as forwards would be a big upgrade instead of having Mapp and Arnaud as winger in a 4-2-3-1. Especially if Casiraghi is the new coach and a 4-3-3 expert.

Wow, RSL is not that much of a threat on our playoff hopes anymore. Espinolda would pf been a perfect fit for us.

Anybody read the Hainault rumor? Apparently Houston will get rid of him now that he's not a starter anymore. Come home where you belong buddy, and goodbye Rivas..

Yes the rumor is saying that they are suppose to not renew is contract.

I think he is not in their starting line up as a CB. So for the salary he would command as a sub don't think it would worth it for them. Especially if he take up a international slot for them since Canadian counts as international players for US teams.

As for him coming here he can play as CB and RB.

We could put Camara as DM instead or Warner, this way we have more depth midfield, something we don't really have that much. So we could use Hainault and Valentin as RB.

If guys like Rivas, Nesta or Ferrari can't play we would have good alternative in Camara, Hainault, Ouimette,
The versatility of Camara and Hainault could be useful.

Gives you the possibility to play easily with 3 CB too and not have to worry about missing one of our starting CB.

We could Let go Rivas or Camara too and free up a international slot too.

At the same time its not like we have to get him.

Some ppl forget that Rivas make only 50k. Even if he plays only half a season that's a bargain.

How much did Haineault make last year?

As someone mentioned in the commentaries of the article, Gordon Hill was a legend in the time of the Montreal Manic, he's our first soccer star in Montreal. He also has ''some'' managerial experience and would look good here although I'm pretty sure they'll hire an Italian.

As already mentionned Mapp and Arnaud take a huge portion of the salary cap without being the starters that we need. No offense to them For this kind of money we can have much much better players.

50K is his cap hit. For all we know, his salary could be 350K, but the Impact used 300K out of their allocation money to lower his cap hit. That 300k allocation money could be used elsewhere.

As for Hainault, can't see him coming to MTL. Didn't he not want to come here during the Brian Ching saga?

With 1 trade, TFC are showing exactly their vision for next year
