He's basically motivating the decision to scratch Åberg in order get some grit.

J.Pettersson's gonna be eaten by Canadian/US forwards. Had trouble facing chechzs in Sundsvall. Not a good showing there. Can see him get cut if no injuries occur.

Sweden has an important date with Canada before the tournament, that game will give some answers. J.Pettersson has size issues at this level with that style of play..

Fröberg to me is a really solid 4th liner. It's apparent Roger wants set roles and guys willing to buy in. But he came in out of the blue based on this season..

This defense must be the weakest in some years?

Claesson and Bäckman were pretty weak cards going into last year. Nilsson and Arnesson can be at their level imo. I lack a Nemeth, though. And Vikstrand is not Brodin.

Solid team. Fröberg was a surprise, he won't play a major role though. The only surprise in the top 9 is the absence of Åberg. Djuse, Djoos and Pettersson are good puck-movers but I would not like to see all three of them against the NA-teams.

IMO, Bengtsson and Boyce should get cut. Bengtsson is not very good and Boyce got no physical game and no skills.

De la Rose - Fröberg - Sörensen would be a good checking-unit. 3 physical guys.

Fröberg has great chemistry with Görtz, the line with Thorell, Görtz and Fröberg have been great actually, even creating some offense, the last couple of times I watched Färjestad

It's funny how modo fans are already questioning why Ludvig didn't make the team, yet most of them haven't even seen anyone of the d-men except maybe Djoos in action.

I thought it was nice of Roger to give Ullmark a HM at the presser while pegging Dansk for third.

Kids everywhere dream of one day being the honorable mention for a national team roster.

All kidding aside, the big surprise today to me was Burakowsky not being included in the 13. Really thought he'd get a shot.

As for the defence, I think it looks good. Lindholm is one of the world's best D prospects and Djuse and Arnesson are both pretty underrated.

No, obviously not but I still like the fact that Roger took his time and acknowledged that Ullmark was close.

So basically, our two best players have the last name, Lindholm?

Related?

No.

Elias is related to Calle Järnkrok, though. And his father played for Brynäs/Luleå/Malmö.

How is Mikael Frycklund comparing to the "worst" players that got in the team? I'm guessing he was never even close, but it's still interesting to hear someone else's opinion.

I think Pettersson will do fine (and I'm not just saying that because he's a Linköping player :p). When LHC J20 played in the WJCC in the pre-season (in Russia), they played NA teams on several occasions, and Pettersson never had any problems then. In fact, he was named the best D-man as well as MVP of the entire tournament. Also, since he's been playing on the men's team, he's constantly been one of the best D-men on the team. He still hasn't been on the ice when the opponents have scored, which I think is pretty impressive, considering his total TOI is 1½ hours.

I think Rönnberg knew what he got himself into when selecting Pettersson, is all I'm saying
