Sure is, haha. He was with a few dudes. I'm assuming he was heading to the Carrie Underwood concert (took my GF, don't judge. Plus, those crowds are always smokeshows).
It's funny when Albany wins they usually are heavily outshot, but when they lose they're usually the ones outshooting for the most part. Good to see Kinkaid finally get another win. I think 3 of our 5 wins now are against Adirondack. I don't like Hoeffel, or Pesonen, or some of those guys much though Pesonen had a good game. Pesonen could be a good call up in a Tim Sestito role possibly. Hoeffel LOLeffel again. Don't care for Sislo at all either. Wohlberg isn't too bad. I don't think they're ECHL guys. Could be decent AHL'ers but it's hard to tell when Albany rarely scores more than 1 or 2 a game.
Have been impressed with Frazee, and take back all the talk of him needing to go. He's shut me up, and has been nothing short of solid in even his worst games. Guys not nearly as good have started NHL games.
Also I really would like to see Josefson centering Patty on a line in the NHL. Josefson could accomplishment what Henrique did last year in the NHL if he can stay healthy.
With Hoeffel you don't look at stats. I see how quick he gets on the forecheck, how well he cycles, how strong he is on the boards in his own end and his positioning. There is a reason why he is a +2 with not that many shots and weak linemates. He has no chance at becoming a top 9 forward but I think there is a good chance he can play 4th line once the season starts so Bernier can move up to the top 9 until Henrique is back.
Pesonen always plays well when I watch. Which can really affect my judgement of him. I don't think he is as good defensively as Hoeffel which will hurt his chance as a role player right now.

I'd rather keep CBGB together until they go flat. Hoeffel on the 4th line? Couldn't be much worse than Janssen or Barch, and anyone who can take more than 4 or 5 minutes of shifts a night is a welcomed sight.

Unless NJ signs someone or this lockout wipes the season, NJ is in desperate need of top 9 wingers. Zubrus-Elias-Bernier would be a fun defensive line.

I really think a trade will be made if season starts before Henrique is healthy. It might be made regardless. I miss the 666 line with Bernier, Zubrus, and Poni.

Try containing those 3 down low. Size on the wings is my wish list moving forward.
The Devils would have one big less question mark I think withh Poni still on the team. Signed for a good cap hit, perfect player in Deboer's system, and can provide an easy 10-15 goals a year. For cheap too. Casualty of the Zach Parise sweepstakes, and fortunately the only.
I still think Whitney can be a Stephen Gionta/good 4th line player in the future.
I was impressed by McPherson. I thought he progressed a lot since the beginning of the season.
Solid along the boards, no-risks plays, some shot blocking... good 3rd pairing guy with PK skills, could be useful.
Just met Henrique at Dino BBQ's bar in Newark. That cast is pretty gnarly.
I'm jealous. Sounds like fun.

Definitely was a fun line to watch. Tons of grit and just enough skill to score when they got the puck.

That was arguably the Devils best line for a period of time.
I was amazed that DeBoer never put that line together in the playoffs, and play Clarkson with Carter-Gionta: He could've done a:

He'd be a PK specialist, just like Hal Gill-lite. He'd have to impress a lot on the NHL especially with how crowded the NHL blueline and the prospect pool is.
Our 4th line was the most consistent line in the playoffs, and the only one that stayed together the whole playoffs aside from the game Carter was out. Though when things weren't going our way, like at times in the Florida series I could have seen Pete putting them together. Maybe if the series with Philly wasn't as one sided, he would have put the 666 together?
One of the reasons I'm thinking or hoping Pete won't break up the CBGB line is he benched Sykie in the Rangers series for Josefson. I honestly thought he would have benched Gio while we were speculating. Before Sykora had been said as the one who would sit.
I'm missing Poni more right now reading this thread than I was before.
I firmly believe we lost him cause of the Parise sweepstakes. He didn't have the patience to wait like the other guys, and for that I can't blame him. All that was needed to lock him up was a one year deal, and on a good cap hit of only like $1.7? $1.8 million? I wouldn't have minded him for two years at that salary.
Pete likes Clarkson too much for that, as effective as it may have been.
I don't think DeBoer liking him matters in this case. Anybody can see that Clarkson simply does not belong on the fourth line. He should be on the third line, no higher, no lower.
Poni to me was a "well, let's see what this random guy can do for us" signing. I trust Lou with those, and there will be more for sure.
He was the trade that got me the most excited. It seemed over the years Lou was more interested in making trades for D men. Crappy D men too like Klee, Havelid, Lukowich. Well Lukowich wasn't too bad I guess. He did make the Kovy trade, and Arnott so it's not as lopsided as it seems I guess.
I was pretty excited when we traded for him. He filled that role nicely. At the very least we could use a forward like him.
I was sceptical when we traded for him, because I remembered him as the player who didn't meet expectations in Toronto, in LA, and with the former Whalers. But the price was dirt cheap, and it turned out that he fit in very well.

In my opinion, cycle down low aside, Bernier is a terrible possession player. Much love for him as a 4th liner though.
Zubrus-Elias-Poni could've faced with success any top-line in the league. I miss Poni A LOT.

Great points about Poni...I was pretty upset when he signed with Winnipeg but like others, now I miss him even more. He really fit in well with our team, it's a shame.
