Morgan Reilly has been invited to Team Canada tryouts for the WJC, Stuart Percy has not. I'm encouraged by Reilly's invite, but a little discouraged that Percy was not invited. I've not seen Reilly play, but have heard good news about his progress this year. I've only seen Stuart Percy play once in Mississauga this year, and thought that he was one of the better players on the ice in the game.
Anyone have any thoughts on why Percy was not invited?

Duncan Siemens, Harrington, Ouellet, Murphy, Corrado, Wotherspoon, Dumba, there's a lot of competition. I didn't think he would make it as a bottom pairing.
Rielly-Hamilton
Ouellet-Harrington
???-???
That's pretty much how I see the top 6, he basically had no chance with Murray in, but with him out he had a shot. Damn shame though.

I was really hoping to see two Leafs prospects on Team Canada, but it sounds like there's not really any need to be discouraged by Percy not being invited. Does this mean that the talent level on defence for Team Canada should be pretty high?
Without too much bias, I'd definitely have Percy there over Wotherspoon, Sproul, Pelech and Corrado. I've seen Percy play more than a handufl of times and he's always been great for the most part.
Not sure if Leivo would have been invited if it wasn't for him injury, however, I'd much prefer to have him there over quite a few of the bubble players.
These are the best juniors, so no shame if they didn't make it.

using his big frame to create space and his skating ability to find open lanes to drive the net. He stands 6-3 and is a natural goal scorer with plenty of confidence.
He's a scout's dream in the way he prepares himself and plays an unselfish game, making smart decisions with the puck. With his bloodlines, he certainly understands what it will take to make it at the next level.
Why invite two leaf prospects? Reilly is too good to deny.
There is no reason not to invite two, or three Leaf prospects, if they were good enough. Percy might be a decent D one day, but he doesn't rate on this list. No dishonour in that, it's a very deep list this year.

I assume that this is Sparks and Biggs for the US team? I'd love to watch Biggs get first line minutes on Team USA, but don't know enough about other US prospects to know where he rates. I suppose that this is getting off topic, but should we expect to Biggs on the first line?

I've seen Biggs placed in a lot of different roles. Some have him on the second line, some have him on the 4th line with Kerdiles, others have placed him with Galchenyuk. I think we likely see him in the bottom six though.

Biggs and Galchenyuk would be beastly though. Something like a Spezza + Bertuzzi combo.
