meh.. doesnt need to be a legit NHL prospect.. We have plenty of those already.. No harm in keeping guys like him in the system.

Exactly, guys come out of nowhere often.

(I'm not making this as a player comparison, obviously, but as an example)

Alex Burrows went undrafted, and it was about 5 years after he was draft eligible that he made the NHL. After working his way up from the ECHL. It happens.

Probably until there is better options knocking on the door. No point in getting rid of depth in the system. Just look back the past 10 years at how a weak system turned out for us. Having depth players that can excel in the minors ranks allow the younger prospects to develop with less pressure.

Also, this is his first pro year of hockey in North America. Not like he's been in 4 years of AHL hockey.

I'm not sure if this is less than kosher (and forgive me if it is) but does anyone have a link to a decent stream of the Barons - Checkers game at 2 o'clock today? It should be a great game against Charlotte who we trail by 6 points with a game in hand.

Lol, less than kosher. Probably the first time I've ever read that on a message board. Check the game day thread, a link is usually posted in one of the first few pages, otherwise google "atdhe sports".

He looked really good in the first game. He looked pretty dangerous offensively and was fighting for pucks. Not as noticeable in game two (against the top team in the league), but still played fine. It has only been 2 games but honestly he has looked better than I expected he would.

He threw a big hit against Boychuk as well.

Hall's incredible. Look how great the Barons have been doing since he joined the team. It's no fluke; he did the same thing with the Oilers last year.

He is our best player!! I'm pretty excited for when he's named captain

The impact wasn't instant (that would be expected given that he hadn't played in so long) but he sure has had a big impact on the team.

Great interview with Ebs by Gregor.

Loved this line when talking about his "unsustainable SH%"

That was a great one. Another was when he talked about shooting muffins in practice. Bar down, all the time.

Yeah no doubt that's what I thought too when Soli said that.

The attitude of Ebeler reminds me of former Blue Jay John MacDonald when it comes to practice and pre-game warm-up. The guy did everything at game speed.

He could help guys like Paajarvi for sure and maybe that backhand that Magnus let go last game was from Eberle giving him some pointers. I'd hope that Jordan would be the type to help his teammates get better instead of just taking shots at them. If he is then that makes him that much more valuable to our club. I'd also hope that guys like Paajarvi, Pitlick, etc. would ask him for pointers and not just rely on him to approach them as ultimately it is their careers in the balance not his. That said not everyone has the insane stickhandling that he does to help facilitate many of those high % shots.

Barons signed a kid from Stockton named Nathan Deck to a PTO. I've never heard of him but he looks like a LH PMD which is exactly what is needed right now. He's been productive in Stockton so far this year (5/12 in 19GP). Could be a nice move.

Yeah, Beckenbauer said the same thing about practice "You think I don't know how to properly do a throw-in? I've been playing soccer my entire life. The point is to practice all skills at game speed" (paraphrased).

Awesome news, I have been clamoring for a LH PMD for some time. Hopefully he's a significant upgrade on Ringwald.

Nathan Deck 5-11 185lbs. 22 years old Saskatchewan boy
'12-13 19gp. 5-12-17 +8 42sog. 6pim.
'11-12 60gp. 7-19-26 +9 93sog. 37pim.

Looks like the kid has taken a big step forward this season, he'd be an ideal partner for a guy like Teubert IMO assuming that he is mobile.

Jordan Eberle named AHL player of the month for November. Justin Schultz named rookie of the month. Huzzah!
