What I remember is Dynamo not wanting to trade him. CB is a position of strength but I wouldn't mind letting injury prone Rivas go and starting Hainault-Ferrari and Nesta-Camara as subs.

1. Québécois + North American spot
2. Would be a true mentor for our own young Québécois CB
3. Has a lot of experience (2 finals [bench but still] and national team) but still young
4. If Camara gets a BPL offer or Nesta is injured/underperforming, that gives us a very good insurance policy.

As for Hainault, can't see him coming to MTL. Didn't he not want to come here during the Brian Ching saga?

With 1 trade, TFC are showing exactly their vision for next year
Houston didn't want to trade him I think.

But he also mentioned that he wanted to stay there too.
Maybe nothing against IMFC, If he as a wife there and is family is happy there while he was a starter in a finalist team he probably didn't had lots of reason to go with a expansion team.
sometimes situation change. Depends what he want now.

Unless he have something personal against the club or the city maybe its possible. Depends if he want to be a starter at all cost too.

Dynamo get defender Brunner from Timbers for allocation, more confirmation that Hainault is leaving.

Him and Le Toux not resigning it would be good to try to get them.

I'd definatly take Paulo Jr on our team if hes available at #8. I'd definatly trade for Letoux. If I remember well we tried to get him from Philly, but VAN outbid us. Would be a good depth/starter player

Bye Bye Gardner

Yep we were outbid, this time would be good to finally get him, Le Toux would definitely help.

Hope we get the new coach soon to know more about what kind of players we should get. But by then if we have the chance to get a good upgrade we should do it.

There is not only rumors about Le Toux not resigning with NYRB but about Cooper Being Traded too.

Segares could be interesting too as a LB for the right price, cause right now he is overprice.

Le Toux told French media two months ago he wasn't resigning in NY. Now Cooper... I'd try to get him to play with Di Vaio. But we'll need wingers to give both of them some decent balls.

Oh and TFC What a ***** club.

He got married last off season, but his wife is from here, Beaconsfield to be exact. So all her family, and his, are still located here. He definitely has reasons to come back home, but he did say the pressure would be high being from Montreal and playing here, hence why at the time, he wanted to stay in Houston.

Cooper is the ultimate finisher close to the net, but we have no talent whatsoever on the wings to feed him the ball.

Not impossible but Didn't ear him say that, all I can find is comments like this.

Unfortunately for the Impact, as much as Hainault loves the city of Montreal, he was not interested in leaving a fantastic situation in Houston. "The locker-room and the coaching staff here are great. Coming in everyday and just enjoying it, it's pretty easy. We went to the MLS Cup last year, so why would you want to leave a team that went to the finals and was so close. Why would you want to leave that? Of course Montreal is home and what not, but it's sort of an unknown. So I'm very happy here and I didn't want to go anywhere else," Hainault explained.

If the pressure comment is true good for him to play soccer and not hockey with the Habs lol

This. Cooper is a striker, and in the Impact's current situation (On the wing wise) we need Center forwards. Letoux fits the bill way more, can't afford to have a static player.

Really intrigued to seewho MTL pick in the re-entry draft. Forget Paulo Jr, I think I mistook him with someone else that Jesse Marsch went to scout, and ended up finding Felipe.

Bernier deals with the pressure just fine.

Well... there were certain legit rumours that he was thinking about leaving very early on when he wasn't playing well and consequently benched.

Yup he admitted on TVA that he was thinking of going back in Europe when he was benched and the media kept bugging him.

Plus lets be real, this is the Impact, not the Habs. At most, they will get 2-3 extra journalists interviewing them, it isn't as bad as it sounds

If Mapp doesnt get picked up are we stuck with him? And if we pick someone do we have to give the same amount as they got last year?

Because he was benched, not because of the pressure. Ferrari said he would think about leaving if he was benched or used as a LB and he isn't French Canadian

My point is that there isn't much additionnal pressure about being a French-Canadian Impact player in Montreal. More attention, but not more pressure. Hell, every media member was campaigning for Bernier to get more playing time. He had EVERYBODY on his side. That is support he wouldn't have had anywhere else. It might add a little pressure, I guess...

Could you imagine in 2 years having Hainault and Ouimette as our 2 starting center-backs and Impact signing Occean to replace Di Vaio?? Holy hell, the O would be fully packed all season long.

Okay I agree with that. The additional pressure is insignificant. Like Laurent said, this isn't the Habs.

No idea why they're waiting so ling to announce the coach. It seems to be the perfect window now to make an snnouncement, the Als are eliminated and hockey didnt start yet.

I think the players that are eligible for re-entry drafts are those who the clubs do not want anymore so Mapp is gone no matter what.
