Foles is going to love having two capable RBs to keep pressure off him next year.

Reid's personal regular season winning percentage has dropped from ~61.1% to ~58.9% over these last 8 games. Doesn't seem like a lot, but for a guy who has coached 220 regular season games... ouch.

Reid pointing the fingure at everyone but himself.

But, another one off the hit list:

Andy Reid Head Coach Executive VP/Football Operations
Marty Mornhinweg Asst. Head Coach/Offensive Coordinator
Todd Bowles Defensive Coordinator
Bobby April Special Teams Coordinator
Howard Mudd Offensive Line Coach

Throw out Dunlap, Bell, Vick, Scott, DRC, and Nnamdi too.

Why the hate for Dunlap? He's never going to light the world on fire, but I don't really see the problem with him being the swing tackle next year.

If there's any good news to take from this is that

A) Foles actually looked REALLY good (save a few plays)
B) Graham looked pretty good as well
C) If Brown could hold on to the damn ball, he'd be a stud running back

Because he can't play. He's too big and slow for faster DEs. Can't risk having to relay on him, they could easily find a better option.

Everyone wanting to let DRC and Asomugwhatever go, who will replace them??

I still think DRC can be a great player, and Boykin needs to learn how to tackle. Well the whole team needs to learn how to tackle to be honest. That's why I feel we need an in your face, down your throat type of defensive coordinator. Shoot what about trying to see if Dawkins would like to coach the secondary???

I don't think this is Reid pointing the finger at anyone. This is Upper Management forcing his hand to make moves. Just like firing Castillo was. If Reid had it his way, Castillo would still be here and be "better jobbing" it up. You can tell he is a demolished and different man than the beginning of the year and being forced to fire his buddies is taking a toll.

It's apparently been known for some time that Mudd would be retiring after this year, no matter what. Saw some articles to that effect last week. I don't think it'll be any surprise when the house gets cleaned out after the season. I wasn't expecting the Eagles to be great, but this is...wow. Not glad to see we're back to the "Eagles are an embarrassment" times of the 90s so soon. I didn't miss those days.

EDIT: Forgot to add that apparently Washburn's behavior forced this after Babin was released. He apparently went past what he had been doing in to the "That's totally unacceptable" level. Not entirely surprised based on the interviews with him I've read and seen, but still...what an f'in train wreck.

Dunlap has been horrendous this year.. Probablly the worse lineman who has played (well Bell is worse but the king is a close two)

Washburn became a malcontent after Reid dumped Babin. Babin was his guy. It's certainly not to put the team in a better position to win.

What was the official announcement? Did he mention why? Just want to see what his reasoning behind it was.

This team is going to have a ton of issues for the next couple of years unless they have a couple of dynamite drafts. They need help in almost every position on the field.

I fully expect a complete overhaul for the staff though. Reid, Mornhinweg, Bowles, April, Mudd, and Washburn will all be gone. That's a ton of staff to replace in one off season. I have a feeling that whoever they hire will be given full control to bring in whoever he wants.

RB is about the only position on the team that looks solid going forward.

He instituted a system that makes it impossible to stop the run without having five defensive linemen on the field. Other than that, he apparently got his panties in a bunch when they released Babin.

Allegedly:

Sideline tiff with Marty M.
Tantrum over releasing Babin
Used to rip into Juan Castillo when he was employed -- call him 'Juanita'
Gruff personality
Retiring anyway
Wide-9

I would wager he became a sour individual over the course of the season. The Babin thing was probably the last straw.

He appears to have been a jerk from the start, and Reid botched it badly hiring Washburn first, then the d-coordinator. He spent the past 2 years just undermining the hell out of Castillo, and the Babin thing was the last straw. See Reuben Franks' article on it for some more info.
