Does Avery have any trade value?

I wouldn't be shocked if the Kings just simply didn't qualify Avery.

Agreed.

But after listening to Roenick's comments on off the record, it doesn't sound like anyone in the King's locker room wants Avery back.

(Yes, it's Roenick and I know he probably won't be back either).

He's too good to just let walk. I'm sure he'll be given a chance on another team or the Kings before he's done with the NHL, and the NHL is done with him. I'd hope we qualify him, bring him back give him a chance, and if not then see what we can do to trade him.

You're really drawing a lot of conclusions here, kj.

Kings'Pawn's description above more accurately summarizes the situation (i.e. DL complimented Avery, suggested that he was part of the problem, though, and will largely let Crawford decide if he wants the challenge and possibly headache).

You may be right that Avery returns, but the suggestion that Lombardi has already decided that he's staying isn't. Lombardi has said that he's leaving it up to Crawford to decide.

What did JR say on off the record..?

I think Kanko makes it if Avery doesn't come back. The problem is Avery is a guy that brings something to the table everygame, whether hitting, scoring, skating, fighting or agitating. Kanko didnt make that kind of impression when i saw him in LA for that short stint.
